My dad has a habit (with a complicated underlying origin I would guess) of calling his dad "the old man" and at least once calling him by his first name. The youngest maternal aunt I have has a semi-frequent habit of calling her parents "los viejitos (the old ppl) " instead of "Nana" and "Tata" like my cousins and I always have.I know that (at least with my aunt I think it's more so -~- ) done out of "carino" (think something roughly meaning and having the senitment of "caring fondness) but if I were to start calling my dad that,I could all to easily see myself using it in a bad and disrespetful habit sorta like how this morning while brushing my teeth while I stuck my tongue out to check it in the mirror I also did a facial gesture that I think he would make, thinking of how majorly disrespectful I'd become if I were to impersonate him.And with the predicatable curmedgeonly behavior he has that would be all to easy.
It's hard to think that my maternal grandpa used to be so strict according to my mom.I wonder if/hope that my dad will go done that route by the time of any grandchildren.
I went to a job fair today at the convention center but found it to be much smaller than the one yrs ago thru high school even though this fair was intended for adults. There's two good employment centers it seems."Path employment" specializes with the disabled it seems while "Goodwill career center" accomadates for special needs as well but also has a job networking club.
