Exercises,MA's,a picture of a common 20 somethings & attraction

Permanent Linkby xod_s on Mon Dec 31, 2012 2:39 am

I just finished trying 2 follow youtube videos of Tai-chi and Taebo a while ago.It was okay, better than a Tai-chi DVD I took out from the library once but that whole time I kept on thinking about how I look and how other ppl would likely jeer and make fun of me like soo many grade and high school phys.ed classes.

I remember that my last science teacher in high school was in2/she said that like on (weekends?) she did Zumba.I kept on thinking yestreday of how that when I had here in the exact year b4
would make fun of me by imitating those booming declarations of short answers that come out of my throat. It's like everyone is magnettically attracted 2 making fun of me that way & "pushing me over".Imitating my voice.

That and 4 some f----ng reason they think of me as some sort of butler they can push around & push button answers out of esp.when I've gotten 2 the point of being conspicously knowlegable.Like I remember the 1st time around when I had her on days when Holly (someone who was with me in that class and the physics class earlier in the day) would be absent she'd ask me "Do you know where Holly is?" or "Have you seen Holly today?".What the f--- am I 2 know where the h--- she's been >:( ?.

Another when Gir said flatly/jokingly "I'll strip for you" she said "Whoo!.It's always the quiet one that are crazy" which really made me only distrust/dislike her more b/c of how that saying applies so much 2 u.That yr she checked off how everyone was graduating except u.The yr after when u said how u weren't going 2 go thru the grad ceremony she said (eyes turned aloof suddenly -_-) "Okay..but don't regret not having been there with your friends" or something like that, like a few other teachers.

She's an archetype personfied 2 me of a judgemental and intemperate, standard "just got my job",run-of-the mill 20 something that I can EASILY see so many in high school becoming esp.every braggy, loud, presumptious "success" golden kid student who's brags "accomplish-fully" about how there good at both badminton and calculus and haughtily jeer at those who try 2 beat them (someone named Jonathan RRRREEALLLYYYY comes 2 mind here -_-):< .

The saying "your only strong as your weakest point" comes 2 my mind being said by the repressive perpetual scowls of those who r undoubtably pros at what they do but are cruel jerks of ppl.

Another unforunate instance of stereotype is what comes 2 the minds of most ppl when u say "martial art".When u say that word what comes 2 most ppl's mind is the apparently heavily stylistized East Asian styles and their "mystique".I mean I *know* very well that East Asian fighting styles are heavily diverse & "legendary" 4 the seeming acrobatic finesse and grace u gotta have 4 some of them (yrs of movies can make u think that) but there are other fighting styles throughout the world that require just as much self-discipline,skill (though not as"full body" demanding/as demanding on some body parts) & r no less effective then those ones.

I'm sure that if u try 2 do Pankration,Savate,Western boxing and not 2 mention the various "folk" wrestling styles like Icelandic Glima,German Ringen & Lancashire wrestling you'd end up feeling that by the time u go expert if u already were good at an East Asian style.I mean why do u think they call MMA mixed *maritial arts* when sometimes the guys might not even b using an E.Asian style.Actually I don't think kung-fu is even allowed in the MMA circuit 4 reasons I'm don't fully know.Something about how in the full-contact styles they mostly/populary use the offensives are linear & 2 the front while in kung-fu where u start yer offensive is ussually a "free for all" like stepping out 2 the side quickly and being flexible enuff 2 strike with a limb from there :| (think "hook past a guard") .

I'm actually sorta surprised that more ppl don't think about this more often when they think about India.Kuttu varisai,Silambam & Kalaripayattu,I've even heard that when the (Persian or Indian?) Buddhist monk Bodhidharma travelled around in2 China his style (maybe Kalaripayattu) was what served as the basis 4 and eventually developed in2 Shaolin gung-fu.-_- I mean heck being the aspiration and ideals 4 being a warrior in Sikhism is a legitly big deal in the religion but u don't really think of that part of India's physical traditions as much as say yoga.

In the W.world MA's have nigh-always been about either combot pragmatism or sports. In Eastern socities there's that *and* notably/particulary also an emphasise on health, spiritual ¹undertones & (more often then the European styles) doing *"just"* enuff 2 *neutralize* a person (as in the case of the "gentle way"/Judo,"harmonius way"/Aikido & I'm sure this is what a fighting monastic like a real Shaolin monk would do/hopefully do if someone were eagerly intent on hurting them).

Also I've noticed that when ppl talk about the "looks quality" of another person there's basically 2 terms:"hot" or ugly.It like a dichotomy, that shows that only arbitarily putting a person's looks into an "either/or" of those 2 categories r all that's valid when it comes 2 look. It's like those 2 categories r the only 2 things that'll produce a reaction out of ppl enuff 2 make them interested enuff 2 do something. There isn't even a category of "plain" looking. The closet things I can think 2 is either "okay","alright" (which means adequte but not good & *just* not good not "not good enuff") & "cute".By "cute" I think that means "likable in an *innocent* way.Since when is *looking* innocent considered a visually attractive quality in a *potential gf or bf or spouse*?.Are ppl so jaded with vice as they grow older that 4 some bizzare a--- reason looking "cute" now becomes appealing?.

Also from what I remember seeing in high school and the little I've more openly seen in community college besides physically buff guys girls tend 2 like following guys who r entertaining. You can be smart and accomplished but that doesn't really seem 2 mean much if yer not entertaining like having a ubitiquitous sense of humour (and maybe being accomplished in 1 or 2 "concrete" or physical things like dancing or driving).A DEEPLY cynical part of me almost makes me feel like saying that even though girls might say that guys r shallow 4 ussually going 4 physically appealing girls, girls are just as equal 2 point a finger at 4 going after guys when not physically appealing entertaining esp.if it's in an urbane way as I've seen with stuck-ups.I mean how else can my dumba--- cousin who failed nearly his whole 1st yr of high school, got held back in an elementary grade & is still rude, greedy & dim could somehow attract thru his socialization lots of girls including one that he got pregnant?.

¹[Supercripts;something that with the way I use asterisks I should use more from now on] it's such undertones, undertones that really require thinking & thinking in certain way (like the *reasons* 4 why u do a move in a certain way, direction, what sorta reaction 2 expect from the reciever, how 2 follow thru, the meaning and history behind the move etc) that sorta make me think that imo 2 optimally practice some martial arts like some of the Eastern styles I've said b4 u gotta b a thinker somewhat. The emphasis of combot pragmatism & sports in the Western world is I think one reason 4 the popular image of person who say uses a wrestling style as a strong brute. It sorta shows in the stereotypes of school "jocks" & [:? *sigh* I have SO many problems with this word] "nerds".Another example of a dichotomy of being either/or,just 2 deterministic choices of being in2 intellectual stuff (although trust me it possible 2b *knowledgeable* in the high-brow sense but not an "*intellectual in personality") or physical stuff. Not really any mentioned middle-ground.It makes me feel bad in how I wasn't in2 physical stuff like 15 yrs ago when if I had been in2 Tai-chi & Taebo when I was little I really could have been/made myself in2 something by the time I'd get 2 my present age.I'd also prob.b a happier person b/c of consistently doing such low-impact exercises that r minimal in terms of equipment or space requirements & maybe have gotten out of that hip problem I was born with faster.
