So the shape is designed specifically for 4d expression of wave information regarding a 2d image across time. clarity could increased with more intercepts hence data or be artificially upgraded however resolution and frame rate would be infinite.
Imagine if you will a cylinder whose surface layers stuck around it only stretch as far as the base surface you would end of with a section that was open to the base surface because the following layers had not stretched that far. Same thing just use 4d and no layers.
