If you imagine space time as a curved pull on a 3d wireframe grid. imagine these line were shaded from white to black. the blacker it was the heavier the spacetime. very lite spacetime would dip normally but not extend the gravitation effect of a body very far heavy space time would be a similar but extend the gravitational impact further.
This kinda model could make predictions like there being non to very few mini systems near a galaxy and a lot of intergalactic dust near by galaxies than more further away from galaxies . There should be smaller solar systems between the super massive black hole band and the main band of the galaxy. redshift should be higher in more galactically clustered regions of space.
