NEW MOD HERE :-)

Greetings, my fellow Cyclo forumers!
Just wanted to pop on here and let you know that I've been granted moderator status for the Cyclo (and BP) forum to give our wonderful mod, Crackedgirl, some assistance.

This forum's not as active as the BP forum, so most of you prob have seen my postings, but just incase.... a little about me...

Was dx'd a bit ago with Cyclothymia after having a range of other dx's throughout ...

I'm willing to try medication now

I've often found the depression good for introspection. I've used some alone time the last few days to feel some things through. I'm sure I have problems and limitations medication won't overcome. But I'm ready to see what the other life brings. The other life of setting goals and sticking to them, making plans and not having them toppled by small setbacks, waking up and feeling ready for work every day all the time instead ...

Anyone had a "first slump" after good meds?

Hola my fellow Cyclos :D
Just wanted to ask the question I put in my subj line. I was dx'd back in May, got onto the right meds for the first time and have had quite an amazing run of balance ever since. Didn't expect things to be perfect from then on, but am a little concerned with a little dip I've taken over the last ...

A few questions about getting help

So I read this thread yesterday.
cyclothymia/topic68228.html
I had major telescopic reading about myself reading about myself moments. It was overwhelming and I started to cry. I'm not and wasn't feeling down; it just overwhelmed me.

Long story short (and believe me, it's a very long story ):
Cyclothymia fits. Everything I read about it describes me to a T. I guess that was ...

Depressed and poetic

I'm depressed and poetic today. I thought creativity happened on the up side in this ailment. On the other hand, I'm legitimately sad about something so maybe it's not a true cyclothymic down I'm experiencing.

How do you chart it?

A normal mood day should be one when happy things made you happy and sad things made you sad, right? So if you have a legitimate reason for feeling happy most of the day or sad most of the day, how do you chart it?

I'm at rock bottom

I know "rock bottom" is used primarily for a stage in one's struggle with addiction, but I feel the same levels of despair. Let me apologize in advance if this gets a little lengthy. I just joined the site and this is my first post after reading several threads.

I'm 31, male, married (7 years), 2 beautiful children
I've been seeing a psychologist weekly for about 2.5 months. About a week ago, she through out ...

Remission

Is it possible to go into remission and the symptoms become latent? I don't have the hypomania anymore, and my mood always teeters on the edge of 'normal' and anhedonic, but is it ever possible for a person to have 'grow out' (Not really, but you get the point.) and not be affected for an indefinite period of time? I am thinking I may cycle slowly, because all of my hypomania happened after a very ...

Cyclothymia and bipolar statistics

Most of us here have probably seen the statistics about one third of people with cyclothymia developing bipolar sometime in their lives. Does anyone know which bipolar? I would guess bipolar 2 because it and cyclothymia involve more rapid cycling.

We have the right to express real emotions, don't we?!#@!

With a deep exasperating sigh, I find it simply part of our plight that those closest to us will blame our "over reactivity," and every single emotional outburst, on "the disorder" OR "our hormones" and we somehow don't get the legitimate right and opportunity to be pissed off like other human beings on the planet! Long story short... hubby in a rush this am, random act of love and kindness on my part, breakfast on ...
