Help With Therapy

Postby Portishead512 » Thu May 08, 2025 7:25 pm

My name is Vance and I have started a business that helps veterans with PTSD and other mental health problems. One of the biggest issues veterans like myself and others, that have been through combat have always had issues laying Out everything for civilians to hear. Because of this I've come up with an innovative idea to work with psychiatrists and help the veterans through veterans get to the place they need to be. I have done all the work up to this point and the last thing I need to do is have therapist to jump on board this program. They would have access to all audio and video of interactions with this veteran needing help. They would also be in contact with myself to help me get those veterans to the place they need to be mentally. I just don't know enough about this career field to know if psychiatrists are willing to be able to work remotely in that situation. It would be very fortunate to work with a psychiatrist in this situation because of the ability of myself to get veterans to speak about their experiences and what they're going through. Thoughts on this.

Hello and welcome!

While you might get peoples' opinions, know that this is a peer-support forum, so it's not a place where professionals network. For that matter, professionals are allowed to post only as peers here, themselves, and not as authoritative professionals. So it's going to be on the slim side you get any feedback from psychiatrists or professional therapists here.

Seems to be they'd be willing to work remotely, the internet seems to have plenty of online services that utilize remote therapy- for that matter, my psychopathic employer (multinational company) who has to know they are beating us into the ground (no resentment here, right?) regularly sends me stuff in the mail offering to lighten my mental load remotely as a company benefit. As if I want to tell a shrink on the company dime how the company is crushing my soul.... but you get the idea. I don't know why it being a service aimed at veterans would make it ineffective. There are going to be some out there that have experience with veterans. I don't know, but I'd also imagine remote therapists and such probably juggle between more than one online/remote service, although I suppose a service might lock them in with a non-compete clause. Just have to put feelers out I reckon. But this wouldn't be the venue for that, there's nothing of that sort in PF and it would only be by chance you got nibbles via this website.
