dx after 45 minutes?

Hi everybody
I'm 31 and was recently diagnosed with cyclothymia and add. I also have alcoholic family issues. I'm basically new here but checked out the site before when I thought my girlfriend at the time had bpd, and again after I kept taking those stupid online mental health questionnaires and they kept saying I might have bpd. I've seen a counselor for 2.5 years and she's pretty sure I'm not bpd. Out of everything, ...

Working up courage

I read about cyclothymia last September and trembled because I felt like I was reading about myself. The article explained so much. I found more articles and that same feeling of reading about myself persisted. For years I had searched for information about recurring depression, but mine wasn’t anywhere near as bad as the bipolar and depressive disorders I read about. I don’t think it’s ever lasted months at a time and I do get ...

Husband started on Prozac to treat cyclothymia???

Hi,
My husband has been diagnosed with cyclothymia and was started on Prozac on June 20th. After about 2 days of taking the med, he said he felt so much better, but the past few days, he's been very angry and irritable. For example, when I got home from work this afternoon and found one wall in the living room painted white ( all of the other walls in that room are a gold color) ...

Loved one with cyclothymia

My wife has been diagnosed with cyclothymia, and possibly bipolar I. The problem is she hasn't really seen the psychiatrist that many times yet to get a full diagnosis. She's on buspar right now, but it seems to me it's more for the anxiety rather than cyclothymia proper.

Earlier, I posted in the other forum that I feel that I am in an abusive relationship. But now that I've read online about cyclothymia, it seems ...

Cyclothymic friend

Hello everyone,

Cyclothymia is really confusing and sometimes it makes us feel lost and confused about who we are, how we live things, etc.
Has anyone met other cyclothymic people in real life? For once, I'd love to meet others like me, at least on the internet.

Take care,

Alex

Seeking a sense of belonging!

Hi, I am 27 years old, married with a 5 year old child.
Last year after experiencing a particularly intense crashing feeling, I visited the doctor and explained how I felt. He diagnosed me with Cyclothymia.

I was relieved at receiving a diagnosis for how I was feeling, and that I wasn't just going mad, but had never heard of this disorder before and so relied on what pitiful information is on the net to ...

Is my depression coming back?

I've had depression for a long time now. As far back as I can remember from being a kid I've been depressed and it's been a very rough road. I've tried to end my life several times but it always seems to fail. I was on several medications for depression, anxiety, bipolar and OCD. Almost a year ago I stopped going to therapy and took myself off all medications but recently I've been feeling depressed ...

Living with a cyclothymic husband

Hi,

I have been married to my husband for 4 years and knew he was diagnosed as cyclothymic very early in our relationship (6 years ago). Can you tell me if there is a place I can get support for dealing with him? His moods are constantly up and down on a regular basis. I would not have much problem with handling his moods, however when he is stressed and needs to 'vent' he does ...
