HOW DOES HISTRIONIC PERSONALITY DISORDER DEVELOP

I REMEMBER LEARNING IN A PSYCHOLOGY CLASS I TOOK IN COLLEGE THAT I RESULTS FROM A FAILURE OF THE BRAIN TO DEVELOP CORRECTLY DUE TO (I) SOME TRAUMA EARLY ON IN A CHILD'S FORMATIVE YEARS OR (II) A GENETIC PREDISPOSITION THAT IS TRIGGERED MY SOME LIFE EVENT.

I ALSO THINK I REMEMBER HEARING THAT CERTAIN LIFE EVENTS, IF THEY OCCUR EARLY ENOUGH IN THE CHILD'S LIFE, CAN CORRECT THE DISORDER.

HPD Girlfriend ! Please advise me on how I should handle her

Greetings everyone,

Its such a relief to finally find a forum to communicate with people who are able to relate to me. She fits the diagnosis for HPD. Additionaly, I have noticed how she tries to manipulate my emotions seeking a desired response. At the moment, as I am tired of her games and I have decided not to contact her for a week and she hasnt attempted to contact me either.

Question is, should ...

What's rolling thru the head of an HPD/Cluster B?

I wonder if anyone has ever gotten an HPD type person to answer a question such as:

1) how do you feel about yourself

2) what kinds of things do you think about during say..driving in silence, other mundane tasks like digging a ditch or riding in an elevator or peeing in the restroom.

---
I asked my ex HPD question #1 twice on email--and got NO reply both times.
Do they freak..and go..OH NO! ...

is severe hpd a form of sociopathy/psychopathy?

not all hpd's are sociopath's but i tend to believe that the hpd's who wilfully manipulate and conquer innocent victim after innocent victim are displaying sociopathic tendencies. i found a study that explains the correlation. it's very complicated so i posted parts of it here. if you want to read the entire article click on the link: note: it was a study done on female offenders. i am not implying that all hpd's are offenders. ...

What does she have ?-2

Hi! I am not trying to recreate the controversy which led to the original topic being locked, but merely continuing on my personal quest for the truth, peace and light.

I plan to speak to my wife's parents and impress upon them the seriousness of what she has.. Whether it be ASPD, HPD or a combo.
They do not seem to have grasped the situation and are treating it more or less like a serious ...

Is this HPD?

Hi all,

I'm hoping you can help me figure this one out. There is a woman that I work with that has turned the whole office upside down since she was hired.

Instead of giving you a whole rundown of what's happened over the past year I thought that I would just put some of it in point form to give you an overview in hopes that you will be able to help me figure ...

Curious about HPD

First - I wanted to say that I have called to schedule an appointment with a Psych (not sure if it's an ologist or an iatrist, lol) but I came across this forum and thought I'd pop in and ask a few questions from other people who know/suffer from the disorder.

After having an (almost) nervous breakdown at work last week, I quit my fourth job this year due to stress, etc. and decided it ...
