where do the alters live?

I am just curious, does anyone have in their mind anything like a house or castle where each of the alters has a space?

DID?

I started to go to a therapist to get rid of sociophobia and there i've discovered some kind of duality in my personality. I have like two points of view on everything: one is rational, cold-hearted the other irrational, compassionate, like feminine. For example if murderers should be killed instantly (they've murdered, that's enough to stigmatize them) or have help from a psychatrist to became a better person. Both came out of me. I don't ...

FALLING APART

HI,

I JUST STARTED TO WORK ON INTEGERATING. MY "T" SEEMS TO KNOW WHAT HE'S DOING. HE GOT THROUGH SOME OF MY ALTERS DEFENSES BETTER THAN I CAN.( KIND OF SCAREY!) I HOPE IT WORKS. MY "PARTS" ARE SO DIFFERENT FROM ONE ANOTHER, I DON'T SEE HOW IT COULD HAPPEN.

SOME OF YOU TALKED ABOUT ALTERS JOINING NATURALLY IN TIME. I CAN'T LIVE WITH THE WAY THINGS ARE NOW. I KNOW I'M PROBRABLY WANTING TOO ...

difference between Dissociative Identity / Depersonalization

Whats the difference?

And a few questions...

1. Alters -> Can they be social with some people... and not others? and can they sometimes be social with people... and then BAM become very unsocial with the same people?
2. Muscle spasms -> I want to call this partial seizures.. because thats what it seems like... like they just went into an uncontrolled state that last 1-3 seconds... like they have been shocked.
3. Loss of ...

DID In Movies, Books, Etc

I'm bored, and this topic seems like a good idea right about now. Lets see, one of my most favorite movies oddly enough happens to be about a guy with DID, I'm sure you've all heard of it, "Fight Club". And yes it is based on a book, that I'm gonna get into when I find time. Definitely one of the most amazing movies I've ever seen. Some people go off about it changing their ...

Support groups

Since I started therapy, I've been looking for a local chapter of DID for support.

Unfortunately, the only group support seems to be from within  Not that I am complaining...it's nice to have friends within.

Where can I find a listing of support groups specific to DID. If anyone has had experience with group therapy, can you ...

Do I have this? plz reply..

Well, I seem to be really paranoid about having serious mental diseases at least for the last three weeks. Two weeks ago I thought I had schizophrenia because sometimes I thought I saw something out of corner of my eye when it was something different and thought of kind of odd things. (Long story click this link to see it http://psychforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=10267 ) Eventually through many people reasurring me that ...

Funny Conversations With My Alters

Humor is a good way to cope with things, plus I just feel like talking about some of the funny conversations I've had with D (and some memorable moments the so-far two times I talked to Frank). Feel free to share some of your own conversations that you found hilarious

D: I can't stomach that ######6 kid. I should kick her head in.
Me: Oh c'mon, I think she's adorable
