Obsessing over sleep?

Hello I just registered to this forum. A little background on myself with insomnia....

Basically about 6 years ago I had one night where I did not sleep. At all. Not a wink. I was overwhelmed by things in my life and of course when I was up thinking about it all and the later it got.....the more anxiety increased. Went to work like a zombie, and then started worrying if I would sleep that ...

trouble sleeping, sometimes due to paranoia, advice please?

Hello, I have had trouble sleeping for many years, and I hope someone here can give me some advice to mitigate the issues with sleep that I am having.

I have had an ever cycling sleep pattern sense i was 15 or 16 (being 20 at the moment). I literally could not get myself to fall asleep. I would have to be exhausted to be able to sleep, and my method for getting my self ...

Hiya i was wondering whether someone could help me decode ny nightmares. Ive been having them every night for a week now and they all focus on the theme of me being raped and beaten up. Can I ever sleep naturally again?

I've always had more or less problems with sleeping, but about a year and a half ago it got really bad - for some time I used to sleep only every third night, and even then only barely. It made me feel horrible to the point of having suicidal thoughts.
I was prescribed quetiapine for that. It helped me get through the worst, but it had terrible side effects (like making me feel numb all ...

Hypnagogic hallucinations (waking nightmares)

For those who don't know, these are weird hallucination-dream or nightmare type things (lol not good at explaining it) that happen just as you're about to fall asleep...they can be auditory or visual, but for me they're just visual. I often see bugs or spiders - and it's almost hyperrealistic, and I panic, might scream, turn on the light, see that it's not there & I'm shaking for up to 2 hours afterwards and then ...

Long-term insomnia

Hello,

I am 28 years old and I have suffered from insomnia for about 4 years, although I've had sleeping troubles since I was a teenager.

I was very troubled as a teenager, suffering from social anxiety and depression, which culminated at the age of 22 when I attempted suicide.

Afterwards I decided to turn my life around, which really happened about 2 years later when I met someone. However, strangely it's also at this ...

Nightmare Discussions

Discuss your nightmares, recurring or otherwise and exchange ideas as to what they may mean.

As a sufferer of recurring dreams and nightmares I found discussing them helped sometimes make them not happen at all, and other times process and manage them better. Sometimes the entire dreams would not be recurring but certain aspects would be. So understanding the meanings to certain things became helpful later on as well.

Sometimes just by acknowledging what your ...
