New here - 12 days of ZERO sleep

Hello everyone,

as the subject says, I am new to this forum and new to insomnia. Out of nowhere, 12 days ago I completely stopped being able to fall asleep. I am terrified to put it mildly.

I don't quite understand how I could've gone from no issues and 8h of sleep to ZERO almost from one day to the next. I've only ever had 1-2 nights with the inability to fall asleep maybe once ...

Can melatonin make you depressed?

I've been taking a melatonin supplement for a week and it has helped me so much to get enough sleep and wake up on time but I am afraid it is making me get depressed again. My depression had improved greatly over the spring and summer to where I didn't even remember what it was like. On the label it says to consult a physician if you have a depressive disorder but I was not ...

QUETIAPINE

After trying so many other sleep medications to help treat my insomnia, my doctor has prescribed Quetapine. I've had the prescription for a few days now but am scared to take it because it hasn't directly been developed for insomnia. Has anyone else been on this? How do you feel after you take it? Any bad side-effects? Thank you.

Suggestions for falling asleep

Hi, new here, joined a while back and have browsed all sorts of stuff. I'll go over quick what my problem is and then what i've tried. Any and all advice is appreciated.

My problem has nothing to do with staying asleep or getting enough sleep. Once i'm asleep I have no real issues, and can even wake up and fall right back asleep. The problem I have is the initial falling asleep. I've had ...

"Side Effects" of Unknown Origin

For the past 3 or 4 years I've suffered from insomnia, however I only recently decided to seek medical help for it. I'm 22, female and I am a survivor of physical, emotional and sexual abuse, most of which though not all, ended at the age of 14. It feels like something is compelling me to stay awake. I'm utterly exhausted sure, but I feel like there's always something urgent or productive that should be ...

How do I stop thinking about sleep?

I'm almost at the end of my rope about my insomnia. It's gotten much worse in recent months. I started CPAP therapy in January and hoped that it would help, but it hasn't. While I don't necessarily blame my increasing insomnia on CPAP, I doubt it's helping much.

So I saw my sleep clinic doctor this week to tell him of my frustration- that in my case at least, there is no connection between my ...

Gathered Info To Write An Article On What Helped My Insomnia

All is said in the title! The only problem I really have is that you have to keep doing the right things forever in order to keep insomnia at bay. I've pretty much suffered from insomnia my whole life but without really realising what it was.

With chronic illnesses you don't really notice how bad you are until you get better. If you've been this way for years how would you know the difference. I ...
