Why do so few media depictions of DID have littles in them?

Like I feel like I'm going crazy here.

I can only think of like one movie and maybe 2 tv shows that have littles in them not counting the Sybil TV movie. The movie being Split which is horrible, and the TV shows being Doom Patrol which handles Baby Doll horribly and Nanaka 6/17. I think United States of Tara has a little too, but I've heard she gets like zero screen time and is not treated kindly? Like, I only know one system without littles, and she has middles. My therapist who treats a few patients with DID says all his DID patients have littles. Littles would be really interesting to write stories about too, as like there's two major movies about kids in adult bodies (Big, 13 going on 30).
I don't know, it's just getting frustrating never like seeing anything that resembles your life on TV. We're little like half the time, more around the holidays or when sick, and like it'd be nice to just see a kid in an adult body sometimes. Maybe a collective is making out with their partner and the kid gets freaked out. Maybe they just passed a big exam for uni and the kid comes out to help them calm down with the stress. Maybe it's a trauma anniversary and a kid has to try work their way through a birthday party for adults and maybe makes it one that's fun for kids too. I odn't know.

I just want littles or headkids or whatever to be treated kindly and have good lives and actually exist.

your ideas sound like good movies but maybe people who didn’t have littles wouldn’t find them interesting?

The people who make the movies will only make things that will make them lots of money our bigs say.

Also some people might not understand about ‘a little in a grown up body’ they might get the wrong idea’ cos our bigs told us there are some bad people who pretend to be kids online to get real life kids (like kids still in a kid body) to do things that are wrong or scary.

so that’s why I can only talk to other littles in groups for people like us. We get lots of time out to play video games now and its ok to talk about video games in groups that are for that…also cos we live somewhere quiet and go out at a quiet time with our dog I’m allowed to be out when we go for walks to the lake and see the ducks and throw the ball for our dog in the field.

our host says the outside world is not a safe people for littles to be out on their own cos some bad people might take advantage or we might have to live in an hospital and not have our own house and pets etc It’s best to let them think we are just one person like them then they’ll leave us alone and then we get more time to play out!

I think pepel can be nice cos doctors and stuff dont mind noing im little and my besties are good to me and some of them sre growned ups in growned up bodies and that's ok.

i am scared of pepel thinking im a bad man were trans and pepel dont like trans pepel and say real bad stuff about us and and and and its real easy to make pepel hate a trans woman by telling pepel that the trans woman wants to hurt kids.

i dont think i gotta play with kids or anything, id just like to see a girl like me on tv sometimes i dunno, even if shes cis.

There are two things I've seen that show people with littles fronting.

One is the short film Petals Of A Rose: https://www.dylancrumpler.com/watch-petals-of-a-rose (we've only watched the redacted version that has 30 seconds of a flashback removed) In the beginning a little moves to the front when she's in the supermarket (more of a middle, I guess, but it portrayed just how things are for us when we go into stores, except that no one else would be able to see anything wrong with us).

And the other is Busy Inside, a documentary, which used to stream for free, but now is available on Amazon prime video or Apple TV for $2 or $3 to rent. It's 70 minutes long and one of the people is a therapist with DID. It shows her when a little is fronting and I thought we would be really uncomfortable seeing that, but it wasn't bad at all.

Unfortunately, I think they don't because people are uncomfortable with things they don't understand. I think that some people who don't have DID find it uncomfortable to seemingly watch "an adult act like a child," so instead of exposing themselves to something new and learning about things, Hollywood has decided to keep littles in media depictions to a minimum. I think it's really sad, because there are already so few depictions of DID in a way that isn't catered to people who don't understand and aren't being challenged to even try to get it.

Hollywood people is stupid.

I think why just let them be a character with DID. Just like anybody else. why the whole show gotta be about DID?

I am tired of people still think we are some kind of fascinating circus freak show.

I actually kind of like fight club movie for DID.

I think about how to make the experience of DID relatable through film and it is hard. o think real answer ur question is that they don't even really do research and they just make it up and don't even know they should have Littles and bigs and protectors etc. I also don't like 2atching stupid movies. split I never even watch split. look big dumb fake lies.

Yeah I agree. I just want stuff where people with DID can just be normal people, like the girl on the street, or a teacher, or an aunt, or a dog walker, or whatever. Maybe a cool detective. I'm working on a sitcom pitch with my girlfriend and it'll never go anywhere but it's fun to think about and to write and such.
Inside out is so good for DID. I like Venom as well. It's like when Hollywood people write about autism. They just write what they think autism is like but they don't know so it's all #######4. But if they just write about weird people they know it's fun and good. All the decent stuff that feels like DID out there is just people asking "what if someone acted differently sometimes, or had other people controlling them"
