Greatest (Asperger) Scientific Geniuses

I would like to present a list of the twenty greatest scientists of the 19th and 20th century. The list is subjective, but I hope that most people would like to agree with my choice.

Quite remarkably, four of these twenty scientists were suggested to have Asperger's syndrome. According to Michael Fitzgerald and Brendan O'Brien, "Genius Genes - How Asperger Talents Changed the World," Autism Asperger Publishing Company 2007, Charles Robert Darwin, Gregor Johann Mendel, ...

i came across this link a few days ago ...

https://www.tacanow.org/family-resource ... th-autism/

... it immediately struck me that a fruitarian diet is all of these things. i've been fruitarian for as good as 5 months now. by far the most noticeable change has been weight loss. i've lost about a third of my previous weight. it's a little soon to be noticing any significant health benefits, however, my ...

Asperger phases

I have had phases of Aspergers for quite some time now.

I can show severe Aspergers symptoms for about 3 months. Then, they are overnight gone. I can be very autistic for 3 months, then overnight I become social, can maintain eye contact, etc. Then after those 3 months I am a shy, eye-contact avoiding person who reads about the same topic for several hours a day. I find this odd since Aspergers/Autism is a ...

Is Ben Afflecks "Accountant" ASPD as well as ASD/AS?

I just watched the movie "The Accountant". The protagonist, Christian Wolff, has high functioning autism. He un-cooks the books for criminal entities and murders people without remorse. This movie caused controversy with many in the Autistic community because of the fact he is a killer and a criminal.

Would this character be an example of someone who is both Autistic and a psychopath?

Obsession, but not completion because it's pointless?...

Hi, this is a bit hard to explain... I have an obsession with guitar and learning to play it (for years) but then I also get a 'self-defeating' feeling of 'what's the point' as it will not be 'useful' - everything I do has to be 'useful'. So, despite the obsession, I never seem to be able to 'mentally' follow-through as there doesn't seem to be any 'logical' point to it (realistically, I am never ...

Very much on the fence

I’ll apologize in advance for the length. This is going to be long.

I don’t have an official Asperger’s or autism diagnosis. When I was 16, I was diagnosed with ADHD and put on medication for it. I’ve been on medication since then. I am a 36-year-old man now. I’ve always felt that my diagnosis was accurate and that the medication has helped me with at least some of my issues.

But certain family members, ...

Depression (?) in Asperger's child *may trigger*

Hi everyone,

I'm new here and I need all the help I can get. My 8 year old son has aspergers, and lately things have taken a very drastic turn for the worse. He gets easily irritable and upset, picks fights over the smallest things, being very confrontational, feeling worthless (calls himself worthless, stupid, etc) and his reaction to insignificant problems are extreme. He even says things like that he should kill himself and we'd ...

AS Query

Hello, new here. I'm sorry if this is something a lot of first timers do but I was hoping some people here could comment on (not looking for a diagnosis) my symptoms:

I recently had a school assembly (I'm a teacher) where a woman spoke about Autism and described some of the experiences that people have and a few of them really resonated with me, most particularly, an almost constant desire to be alone and ...

Does anyone else feel this way?

Short intro - I was diagnosed with Aspergers at 23. I'm 29 now. I started off barely being able to hold any sort of conversation, maintain eye contact etc. Basically many of the typical symptoms.

I've observed from a distance things like herd mentality (e.g passive aggressiveness towards someone sporting alternative ideas like veganism). I also become extremely frustrated when you have done everything right and I'm speaking factually like following the right processes when ...
