Sorry to butt in here with my mod hat on.
Can I gently remind people that links to other forums and similar sites (social media included) are not permitted. This is not out of wanting people to only stick with Psychforums and to cancel out any competition, but out of safety to the members of the forum here.
The reason being- many years ago, some users of the forums- a few different forums here went away and made their own forums. That was fine, but their forums were not as strict on member safety as we are here. Arguments broke out, true identities were compromised, and all of the problems and arguments were brought back here with a lot of he-said-she-said, and the remainder of the people here were caught up in the middle. So we just don't allow it. It also meant that whole communities kind of died, and I really don't want to see that among the DID forum- you all do such an amazing job of supporting each other. Also please be careful with links or mentions to places like facebook or sites you might be logged in to- as this may lead a savvy internet user back to your identity. Please also be careful mentioning local places/connections, because again, it could compromise your identity or location.
Say you find someone else who is in the same state or city as you- you're welcome to discuss it further in PM, but only if you feel safe doing so- remember that once it's out, there's no taking it back.
I am ok if you want to MENTION a website without any links, so others can go away and google it for themselves, but just, no links please. I do understand that sometimes different platforms present different ideas and options for discussion that might not be here- I've had to search for some myself at times. But whatever happens there on those platforms, stays there please.
I'll take my mod hat off now.
Thanks
Lily
