Help Depressed

Postby mr1234 » Tue Mar 08, 2011 11:42 am

I failed in my exams last year, i was extremely dedicated to my subjects, and had done some projects on it. I got less time to study then, as a result failed in exams, and have to waste 1 year. We can take yearly 2 exams, i took the first exam and i've passed only 1 subject. now in the middle of the year i need to take another exam.
I couldnt concentrate on studies just because i wasted a year, and so i failed again in exams. I feel the way things should be thought is wrong in our education system. I'm more practical, but they want me to mug things up and pass the exam.

What has happened to me? I'm not able to concentrate on studies, i think i've spoilt my life.

It's understandable you feel let down and depressed. I'm going through something similar too. It's all due to politics and it's crushing. The only words of encouragement I can offer is just sit and think. Where do you want to go after these exams? Do you NEED these results or can you find another route around it? Is there a lower job you can aim for and build yourself up to where you wanted to be after these results is they do not turn out well? Think your options through, you are not a failure if you do not pass. Things are difficult and people often don't understand others dedication to something. Keep pushing through and find your way around the situation. If your lecturers are not listening to you can you complain to someone above them? Take a little break and think it over, maybe you're putting too much pressure on yourself.
I hope this helped, all the best x

i did complain to the person just above to them, he didn take any action. He blamed me saying that 'you need to change your attitude'. But i know what they are, and i know what my attitude is. My relative knows the head of the institution, but i dont want to go to him. Somewhere i feel like leaving home and changing the school.

I think i dont get a suitable job without a degree. People know what 'technical degree' is in our country, but still they cant give me a job without that, because it would be against their company rules.

Ah, that sucks. Maybe it's worth thinking about going to the head of the institution and saying that there is a problem with the attitude of your tutors. How hard would it be to move to a different school and move out? Do you have the funds to move and support yourself?

i know that, i dont have enough funds for getting into a new school all on my own. But if some student(of any other school) wills to join my school, i can exchange his seat with a small money spent. Money will be spent on office work and other charges. But i would save big amount if that happens.

Else, i will have to remain in the college, be away from classes and do my studies in the same college. This is what the university is: bad in quality, big in quantity(160+).

Hey sorry I haven't got back to your last post, how're you feeling now? Any progress with the lecturers? How you spoken to anyone else? What about the exchange idea? Any further developments? I'm still interested and wondering how things are going.

All the best, Amber X

Thanks for coming back.
I'm sitting in Home, because i've failed. So no School. I havent met any lecturers too (how can i meet them, if I'm theirs enemy). After a long gap, spoke to my sis today.

I need to change the college badly, i would not be able to concentrate there, because teachers suck and i have good amount of friends there. And i cant show up to them. Idea is in my mind, but now i'm scared whether it works/not.

Do you think you'll get into a different college even though you've failed? I'm sorry things didn't go well. Any other plans for the future? I'm sure you'll get there don't be too hard on yourself.

Well done for still planning a head, I know when you're depressed it's so easy to just give up and decide you can do nothing. Keep me updated on what's happening, if you find out how to write a journal and if you get into another college. Also how you're feeling. Chin up, you're obviously a strong one.
