For a long time, I had an obsession not with foreign languages but the families they were in. I also have an obsession with categorizing people based on benign things like college majors as well as controversial things like political party, social class, perceived mental illnesses, etc. and that has gotten me into a lot of trouble.

Yes, I know nobody here can know for certain, but I would like an opinion of this. I was diagnosed with autism at 15, and with comorbids ADHD and OCD. Specifically, they diagnosed me with asperger don't identify with the label ever since it stopped being a diagnosis, but I'll post here if it means other people with similar symptoms could help me.

I am curious since this is considered one of the prime traits of asperger syndrome. However most of the successful people don't have asperger's and many are just as fanatical in their career (that often started as a hobby) as people with aspergers (especially in academic and research topics).


What is the differences?

Hi,I'm new here.
I have thought there was something "different" about my son since a young age.I have been to the doctor,who said it could be either ADHD,ASD,or sensory processing.she has sent off letters from myself and my son's school to assess what it could be.but since talking to the doctor I have googled ASD,and it really seems to me that my son may have aspergers.
I just wanted to see what people with children ...

This is a pattern I cannot understand. Aspies spend so much time on an internet website, some even spend all their social interactions on a single forum. Yet not only do they never donate when the admin requests help because of maintenance cost, they even fail to respect other users WHO love the site so much that they are paying a considerable amount for it to exist.
