Why can aspies tell "non-verbal cues" via typing and online?

I cannot understand this. People with asperger syndrome I met on the internet often can easily tell if someone is quite angry or someone is suffering under depression in internet forum posts and private chat room and messengers such as Skype. To the point they can even tell different users who post similar, if not the exact same post that one is angry and one is feeling sad.

How come they have such intuition in ...

Hello all!

I'm new here. I am NT and I have an Aspie boyfriend. I love him very much, but we face some problems lately and I would like someone's opinion as to what to do.

Let me explain. We met 4 years ago and we started a relationship right away. At the time we lived in different countries but soon I moved to his country to a city close to his for my PhD. ...

Overwhelming number of things to do

Why is it some people seem to have their lives so well organized? I have problems with simply having too much on my mind. Something always gets in the way of me finishing things and they get put to one side and get added to my to do list which gets longer and longer. I worry constantly about paying bills I can't afford or dealing with administration problems.
My job is as a specialist craftsman ...

Why do so many aspies hate sports (except martial arts)?

I notice a strong common trend among people with asperger syndrome is hatred towards sports. In fact its so common among aspies of different traits and scaling in the autism spectrum to the point I would even classify it as universal (minus **VERY RARE** exceptions).

Not just sports but even for the most sport physical activities in general including non-competitive ones such as hiking. In particular I notice in particular mainstream spectator sports such as ...

When exactly does listmaking become a sign of aspergers?

I have asperger syndrome but one problem I had with the classification of the disease is how listmaking is one of the prominent traits.

For example people try to say I have Autism whenever I get a small notebook to write down some reminders. Except I work OVERTIME on top of going to college and I even have to work on weekends sometimes just to make ends means.

It gets so hectic that I often ...

Can Aspergers be comorbid with Cluster B Disorders?

I was just curious if Anyone with Aspergers could also have one of the cluster B personality disorders like Bpd, Aspd, NPD, etc.... I know it doesn't seem likely for a lot of aspies but i often think to my self how would someone with aspergers who was born into a broken home develop or cope with it, now i'm well aware that aspergers and sociopathy is completely different in the brain wiring and i'm ...

About eye contact

I know you're supposed to look at people's eyes when they're talking to you, and that's something I need to work on. Could anyone clarify, are you supposed to look at the eyes the whole time or do you alternate between the eyes and elsewhere? It just seems to me that staring at someone's eyes for the whole time they are talking would be uncomfortable for both people. Maybe I'm wrong?

What to do when a friend refuses to accept?

What to do when a friend refuses to accept that they have asperger's?

I think it would be better to accept it because it could be helped and understood who she is.
When we do not accept who we are, we are not well with ourselves.

What advice can you give her to accept?

Thanks.
