If you withhold narcissitic supply?...

There is this guy that I'm sleeping with, that I suspect is a narcissist. We have sex maybe once or twice a week. In the beginning he tried to play me, pretending to want a relationship but I realized it was just a game. Since I am sexually attracted I continue to see him, but told him that he needs to stop trying to play me, and that I don't want anything more than a ...

Rant about people working minimum wage

I don't know why I'm so bothered by this today but I hate people on minimum wage or just anyone in the lower class. It disgusts me. I can't explain the disgust I have when I look at these people, interact with them, etc. I'm nice to their face just internally the disgust is so high it brings me to tears sometimes. Mostly because there was a time in my life I was terrified of ...

Can my mind be free after a lifetime with an N?

I'm 49 and I believe I've spent my entire life living with N's. I was raised by one and then married one.
I'm completely done with the one who raised me, but still struggling (after almost 30 yrs) with the one who refuses to divorce me.

I'm constantly haunted by thoughts and memories associated with living with these monsters. I've read article after article about N's, I write down my negative thoughts, tried counseling (counselor ...

How do they do that, know exactly when to strike

 I am doing fine allready!, or I was.
But now the N keeps showing up on my way everyday. Not like we would have to talk, or anything. I always choose different direction to walk. But he's watching from a distance. Staring. Knowing I see him. Even when Im ignoring.

He's hoping that I contact him. So that he can turn me down. Right?
Or ...

covert NPD, different around family, friends, others

hi,

I am still at the stage where I have realised there is something seriously wrong with me but i'm not sure what (some mixture of schizoid, avoidant and covert NPD).

The biggest problem I have, and the one that I think is at the core of everything, is that I can't be myself around my family. From a very young age I stopped being myself around them, I am completely passive, can't express any ...

Recognizing others as human beings

My potentially N father, shockingly, asked me "What is a human being?" to which I replied, "Are you asking because you know but you want to debate it with me or because you don't know?" and he said "Because I don't know."

I admire his honesty, but his answer is quite sad and frightening. Does his lack of knowing what a human is have anything to do with how he often tries to suppress my ...

If you pointed out to a Narc that they had NPD…

If you pointed out to a Narc that they had NPD, and gave them the link to this site do you think it would sink in?

Knowing him as well as I do I'm certain he has checked in looking for posts that could have been made by me.

He was livid when I told him I thought he had NPD. He blew up my phone. I have 16 screen shots of text messages from ...

2 words....

Fanatic Narcissist. That's exactly what I'm dealing with. I know it! And saying...hey, you're not the fictional character you believe yourself to be and which your whole life revolves around and NO you're definitely not on a grand mission of any sort - you're just terribly disordered and living in fantasy land (which, actually, I've already done anyways) is not going to work. This person only surrounds himself with people that will play the part ...

"on the spot" questions

Hi. I need some advice.
I am having a hard time thinking of responses to what I call "on the spot questions". I am dealing with my father, who I think has narcissistic problems.
During a conversation/argument, he will often interrupt the flow of the conversation, usually mom, to say "What do you think?" He will be looking directly at me. Whoever was speaking stops, usually my mother, then becomes quiet. The whole conversation stops, ...

Narcissism in family, and me?

Hello

First off, my native speaking is not English, I am from Scandinavia. So bare with me.

Where to begin. I can’t tell about everything, and all things. Near impossible. But I will try to some degree. It will be confusing. I would had liked to keep it simple. Some may be totally Irrelevant.

I seek your options on some things.
I don’t like to label myself, or anyone else for that matter (may contradict ...
