Nondescript spent an hour writing a reply, forgot to save it before hitting "post," and lost it. Alas. Another night, fellow travelers. Thanks for the thoughtful words.

Just wanted to say that I've disappeared mostly because I was caretaking for someone who was hospitalized, and now they are out of the hospital and staying with us, taking up a lot of the mental space and time I'd reserve for this kind of stuff.

I was caring for an elder family member who became completely physical unable to care for herself, so I was handling everything except putting her shirt on, and then she unexpectedly passed away, with me having to be the decision maker. The whole thing was a major life event. Second major death in a year, along with a natural disaster.
I coped fairly well, but now another, more personal thing has come up and its led to a dissociative breakdown, such that I might have gone inpatient at a trauma program if it had been an option, just to get intensive therapy and stabilization... although my crisis is mostly invisible.
I keep wanting to come back to the forum, but I don't think I can keep up with it. Also I'm a little uncomfortable posting here since I've written personally identifiable information under this username in the past. Anyway, wishing everyone well. Maybe I'll get stronger and become able to be a useful community member again.
