Stringing Guys Along

I've interviewed 2 HPD females. I asked about their relationships with men.

Lady A told me she "strings guys along" deliberately because it is fun and she likes to "play games with men's minds because I can." She told me that while she was with one guy, she "acted just like what he's ever wanted in a woman - - me!"

When she's with the next guy, she becomes "whatever he dreams about." She acknowledges ...

Garlic for an emotional vampire?

I am a female who has a friend I’ll call Alice, whose behavior I find draining and invasive. I suspect she has a histrionic personality at the very least and wonder if anyone can offer insight into how I can modify my behavior to get this person to stop coming to me with her problems, without being the ‘bad guy’ – I don’t want to overtly tell this person to get lost for the sake ...

HPD - Cluster B PD - Psychopathy

after reading a lot about psychopathy (hare, cleckley) i´m getting more confused over the relationship between cluster b disorders, especially hpd, and the concept of psychopathy.

so i would like to post a couple of questions:

1. thinking carefully of my ex-hpd she certainly has many psychopathic traits as indicated in the literature and a couple of hpd-traits listed in the dsm (behaviour based) can be also found in hare´s pcl-r (character based). is it ...

Anger Difference in HPD/BPD

I am around lots of PDs. I am very interested in two young women who present with BPD and HPD features or traits. Neither has a PD diagnosis or diagnostic impression.

The one who I believe has the most HPD features is very needy, clingy and cries a lot, then shuts it off like a light switch. She denies being angry. In fact, her goal in life is for "everyone to love me."

She's physically ...

hpd employee

I have a problem with an employee. I bought out my partner of 6 years and she became my problem. I have read a lot here and on the web, he is a narcissist and she has hpd. No doubt in my mind on both. She bounced job to job until 30 years of age, 1 year max at those jobs. She came to work for us and I was off the radar screen, Happily ...

Histrionics and High level Borderlines

Do any of you think that HPD's and Borderlines have similiar mentalities, motives, defenses etc.? When I say Borderlines I don't mean borderlines described by the DSM, Im talking about the little known High level Borderline. They are often mistaken by some therapists as being neurotic but underneath have similiar defenses and motives as their low level counterparts, only they're much less pronounced.

Loves the Attenion?

I've been around a woman who may have HPD. She told me very personal information almost immediately, practically after I stepped through the door.

Since then, she has told me about "the love of my life," a guy who she has dated on and off for four years. She also told me that a guy at work was coming on to her all the time and making her life miserable. She said he called her ...

So confused and need help

My wife's been in therapy for 3 years now. The past 8 months have been a nightmare. From the comments she's made about her sessions, it sounds like she and her therapist both agree there is a "sickness" but they don't know what it is. They want to stay away from labels- I totally understand that.

Her personality over the past 8 months has been about how I caused all of her bad behavior. I ...
