Lithium - and hospitalization

I have just spent a few days in a psychiatric hospital but discharged myself because i didnt believe it was helping me. However, when i was there they were finally discussing putting me on Lithium. Now i am discharged is it impossible to get this? They told me they like to monitor you to make sure the dose etc is right but has anyone ever started this without being monitored in a hospital?

Seperated from Bipolar Hubby~ Help Plz

I asked my husband for a seperation in August, due to him being physically violent at times (seemed seasonal) and being very verbally abusive. It all seemed to come in waves, and the rest of the time he was a sweetheart. I just couldnt take the mood swings and horrible treatment. I always suspected he was bipolar, he lived in a VERY abusive enviroment growing up (pretty much torture) but deep down is a great ...

whatever im ...

He has such weird tendencies and I just don't understand them. We have a 2 year old daughter together and when he is here he is usually 100 percent there for her, no matter his state of mind. As soon as I realize that ...

Omega 3 fish oil --- anyone else on this?

I'm curious to know if any of my bipolar comrades are taking fish oil as an adjunct to their meds. I just lowered my lamictal dosage and began taking the fish oil 2 weeks ago. I'm astounded at how stable I feel, I would have never expected this so soon. Every day I keep waiting for the swings and, so far, no swings.

Any other fish ...
