Could it be possible that...

...a certain former moderator and ex-member was actually singlehandedly keeping this place interesting? I mean my god, what a drag... What happened to all the intriguing tidbits of information and lively post?

Am I the only one thinking this or has this place really become dreadfully boring? Any ideas to improve the situation?

Newbie who thinks BF has AS

Hi all :-)

My name is Becky, I'm 23 and live in the UK.

I have been with my boyfriend for about 4 months or so and strongly believe he has AS.

These are a few of things that have lead me to believe this;

He doesn't understand sayings such as 'pinch of salt', '...price of eggs', 'beat around the bush'.
When he starts a conversation, I ...

Like or Dislike, how you know?

Hi guys, Im currently bored with my profession. I didn't know what I wanted to do / be when I was a teenager (other wanting to be rich and thinking I would start my own business to do so) and despite being 32 I still feel the same way.

I get an idea of a profession that I think would suit me, find the details and think it sounds good etc etc. However, the next ...

Came on a little bit too strong..

So I'm in my last year of high school and in 7 weeks time it'll be the end of school. I've been applying to sixth forms and I found out this other girl who I've spoken to a few times has got into the same place as me. I thought maybe we should be friends.

She said she was really happy that we were both in, she found out first that she had a place ...

How do I get rid of something I've formed an attachmen to?

I form attachments to objects--not people. But I know this has been coming and it's got me all upset just thinking about it. But it's time for me to move on from these shoes, and I just can't make myself.

I've had them since I was 12 years old--They were used when I bought them from Goodwill for $3.63. I KNOW it's time to let them go, and I've had them in the trash several ...

Irritating sounds

I was diagnosed with asperger this week,
and it feels kinda good to know.

There's one thing I'd like to discuss and that is different sounds and noises...
When I'm writing this I'm having problems with some neighbours that play awful
music and scream/talks like crazy and they lower and tune up the volume all the time
which is very annoying. When I hear sounds I really don't like it's like I'm paralyzed
and all ...

Not sure what to do

Hi there. I'm new here and coming to you all out of desperation. My son is almost 23 and for the last 13 years I have suspected he has Aspergers, but none of the doctors or the psychologist really seemed interested in looking at that. He fits all the classic criteria. Additionally he has had seizures off and on throughout his life. The last major one was about 3 years ago, but I suspect he ...

My girlfriend

A few weeks ago the relationship we had been in for three months seemed to have ended. The reason why was because throughout the relationship, she insisted that her mum didn't know because she didn't approve of it and preferred things to be secretive and between us two.

I told my mum and dad and a few friends because that's what you do when you go out, but I wanted her to be open because ...

Two things.

Completely random, but did you ever keep a diary as a child? And if so, what sort of things went in there?

I´ve recently found one from when I was in elementary school and it mostly consists of me writing about my favourite books (in detail!) and describing the routes I had to take to get to my friends´ houses (including how many steps I had to climb to get to the front door) as ...

Asperger's?

Hello. I think there is a strong chance I have some milder version of this. I can get by, but it has taken a great deal of effort to get where I am. When I was younger I was much more naive... I did not pick up these social cues well. I was never terribly lagging but much behind the curve. I had to learn many emotions cognitively... I've spent a lot of time pretending ...
