I never realised she was wrong in doing it till my father was home once and stopped her, and said something to her about getting her help. I am a self-diagnosed OCPDer and I know from long ago that I have depression. (anybody know anything about the difference between saying someone is depressed and has Depressive Personality Disorder?) We are dear friends with our neighbors. The husband of that couple has many of the symptoms of OCPD, including feeling unable to part with possessions. At the same time, being surrounded by all the accumulated stuff is creating anxiety and financial hardship for them--their children are grown and they need to sell their home and move to a less expensive one, but can't think about selling the overstuffed house.
