NEW way to avoid a Narcssist ex!

I have heard a lot of people say that you should have no contact with your ex N and you should delete their number.

I agree that no contact is good, but sometimes this is not possible and also it can be easy to fall back into old habits and call them when times are tough or be sucked back in. So I suggest keeping their number in your phone and here is why:

Change ...

Nicole Kidman plays a textbook NPD in "To Die For"

There was a study where professional psychiatrists diagnosed her character as NPD. I tend to agree. I recommend this movie to anyone who wants to see a portrayal of an NPD in action. Particularly, watch out for the following scenes:

-Her fixation on her maiden name as being superior to her married name, as it houses her identity, which she perceives as being special, exceptional, etc.
-Her ambition and drive to be famous and a ...

How is this called?

I often have problems communicating with other human beings because I use some words with a different meaning/weight. For example, if I say that I'm egoist, people will immediatly picture in their mind some hideous being who profits and takes advantage of others for his own well being and doesn't feel guilty about it. But that's not what I meant.

I mind my own business without interfering with other people (or trying to not interfere), ...

Is this lack of empathy or something else?

When someone tells me they're going to have a child, or their mother's died, or they've just been promoted, etc, I rarely feel any kind of emotion. Neither do I instinctively offer the appropriate reaction. I have to pretend. If I ever feel something in these circumstances, it's usually a sort of tired irritation at having to put on a show for them.

I have always struggled with words of congratulations and condolences because they ...

Does this sound like Narcissm or NPD?

Hello,

I was wondering if you could help me with a friend who I suspect has NPD or another personality disorder. I will post some characteristics or traits that I have noticed.

1. Religious and very judgemental of others - (thinks others are sinners for the most ridiculous things)

2. Acts very suspicious of other people intentions including friends (thinks people are giving bad advice when in fact they are stating the truth or their ...

wondering if someone could help me out?

Hello,

I keep reading and reading and still cannot convince myself I've been in a relationship for 3 years with someone who really has no regard for me. I am seeking clarity.
It is too hard to believe that I am a victim.
I sometimes feel like I am an over sensitive, over reactive , stupid moron who doesn't know how to be in a relationship. I keep trying to see where my behavior has ...

positive and supply?

I dont see a difference between what the general public calls surrounding yourself with positive people änd aperson with npd or N traits or whatever surrounding thmselves with supply sources. Both exist for the same reason-validation.
A person who is begging for positive people typically does not feel positive herself so she needs to look for external sources. But on the same coin, one cant surround themselves with negative people because then the person will ...

How would a Narc react to a restraining order?

I realize the real answer is going to vary depending on a lot of factors.

In this case, it would be to protect a sixteen year old from her 23 year old predatory internet stalker. They have a hot/cold relationship thing going on. It costs her a lot of time and makes her family feel unsafe for her on a regular basis.

How I screwed up my wife

So since a few days I realize my antisocial tendencies, perfectionism and ability to manipulate (and the joy I have doing this) and obsession with control fit perfectly into the NPD diagnosis. It is a bit of a shock but I also appreciate to have a chance to really make sense of how I acted in the past and what defined me.

Its a bit hard to take to see my house of cards get ...

Harem member, now girlfriend

Well, I've been doing well. That is, until I found out my former N has been dating a former harem supply member for 6 mo. He would always have legitimate girlfriends but they were all shiny and new. women with high paying jobs and good families. Show ponies he could cast his spell on and parade around. once they got to know him, or the crap he'd put the through, they would be gone, if ...
