Groinal response and physical arousal

Postby OcdSuffer » Thu Sep 24, 2020 10:26 pm

Hello I have read a lot about groinal responses, on Wikipedia it says that groinal response can cause orgasm because primitive thalamus takes thoughts just as sex not sex with particular person. But it also state that groinal response is anxiety and attention to genitals that causes Blood flow to them and physical arousal. Some of articles I have read also confirm that anxiety, selective attention and monitoring arousal in one's genitalia can increase physical signs of sexual arousal.

So can physical arousal cause also unwanted orgasm? I have read tons of topic were People state that it is easier for them to reach orgasm while having groinal response which is physical arousal.

Not quite sure I got all that. Physical arousal is going to make it easier to orgasm, so yes?

And I've never had an anxiety erection, but I have had very pleasant sensations in the groin, associated with sharp immediate anxiety that was of a physical nature, but not sexually related. For example, having my hand close to something that could break it, or worse, and moving it just before the dangerous action occurs (I used to work with machinery). It was definite, and repeatable, and nothing sexual associated with it. Nothing I intentionally did, mind you, but once I noticed it, I paid attention, and yes it was very predictable when I would have those groinal sensation, to the point that if I'd wanted to, I could have produced them intentionally.

The articles that state the same thing over and over confuses a lot of People stating that groinal response can cause orgasm because intrusive thoughts can be seen as just "sex" by primitive thalamus, but what about People that see images or hear things that cause them groinal response and unwanted orgasm? I have read an articles that Anxiety, selective attention and monitoring arousal in genitalia causes physical arousal, so my question is can that also cause unwanted orgasm? I know that intense anxiety can cause spontaneous or premature ejaculation and People with Pgad have only physical arousal that causes orgasm, all this things are known now as arousal non-concordance. I also read that a lot of People complain that it is easier for them to orgasm and much faster to groinal responses. But there isn't much talked about it, no one seems to publish articles about that.

I think you're overthinking this.

I don't think really it's over thinking, because People are still trying to find answers. It may sound like Reassurance but for me an clear explanation helped me to get over other ocd types such as harm OCD or magickal thinking ocd.

Perhaps I should have said, 'making it overly complicated'. We do, after all, tend to get lost in details.
