YEAR OF HELL (2020) But I Have Not Gambled...

Postby Fund Manager » Sun Sep 27, 2020 7:52 pm

BAD NEWS:
a) Lost my partner. Natural causes, not COVID-19.
b) Lost my career. Very distraught, I did something very stupid (not criminal) and my professional license was revoked.
c) Lost my house. Our home held too many memories so I sold it and moved into my much smaller rental property.

GOOD NEWS:
a) U$2,000,000 bank account. Sold everything I owned (save new home) to boost savings.

2020 has been the worst year of my entire life BUT I HAVE NOT GAMBLED.

Amen, it has been a very hard year for so many unfortunately. But this is a very good accomplishment and I hope you celebrate it somehow despite ups and downs of life, things like this deserve to be celebrated and honored.

Maybe 2021 will be my year.

You remind me of what one of my fellow GA members once said: No matter how bad your day is going, it can always be made worse by gambling.

Great update in regards to gambling, but I'm sorry to hear about your horrible year. You will heal with time and I am sure you'll come back stronger.

Thanks for your kind words, everyone!

To clarify, "GOOD NEWS" refers to the ONLY positive in my life now; that is, financial security for the foreseeable future. It was not meant to be celebratory or a humblebrag as I believe wealth without our loved ones is meaningless.

So sorry for losing your partner. Sending love and light your way.

Thank goodness for that financial cushion. Please, please, if you slip to playing markets, or casinos etc. please find a place to garner and stop gap the future pain. That kind of "freedom" makes me nervous ;).

Sense you are moving thru this w/ grace. As said ahead of me, Better Days ARE ahead and more joy, adventure and people to enjoy are included.
