Question about doctors actions

Do doctors as rule, pick up a baby 4- 6 months by their head? Like a thumb on one temple and pinkie on the other, lifting them with no other support on the body? Is this normal procedure?

This happened many years ago to my infant son during a followup. My baby screamed. I called the doctor on it - he apologized but it still haunts me.

Stupid question

Hello there. I've to know that it's a stupid question for somebody but it's my trouble. Where to find food ? Most (super)markets sell packaged food that I don't consider healthy : are rich in calories while poor in nutrients; pizza is a classic example in my Italy (where "Mediterranean diet" is utopia). It is also very tasky to prepare at home complete meals from ingredients which are however sold. Even I can't afford the ...

Don't ignore any warning signs!

If you have dizziness or vision problems, get it checked out quick. I was having dizziness almost to the point of blacking out when turning my head (i.e. - when backing up the car).
When I turned to look forward, the dizziness would dissipate and my vision would clear. I was thinking it was vertigo or syncope?
I did go to doctor and they performed a EKG and thought that it had an unusual spur ...

My son and I, trauma, and the future

My son and I are very close. As a result, I am worried about him if anything happened to me. I am 49 and he is 10. His mother gets visitation and her past 1actions are what caused he and I to value each other so much. She never had any connection with him. From day one, I was the present and nurturing parent. She left when he was almost 2 and dissapeared for two ...

I have a tumour

I'm actually OK though. I only found out yesterday so I don't know if its anything to worry about.

I had an mri scan on Wednesday and got the news about it yesterday. It's a 6mm tumour on my nerve sheath on my spine.

Was a bit in shock when I was told about it over the phone. She just rattled off loads of things. Basically my spine is shot to ######6 pieces but I'm ...

Worried for my kids.

Hello, in the past year or so, I have noticed that youtube stopped recommending me random content and that content has become very watched history related, and very rarely for example recommending random videos from the subscriptions playlists.

Now I was looking at a definition for stalking in the American Journal of Psychiatry and I have noticed very worrying similarities in Youtube`s recommendation algorithm.

Although I know it`s supposed to be marketing, there`s a point ...

medical alert systems

I had an accident a few months ago when I was alone at home. I was in the middle of cleaning my kitchen; my phone rang, and I ran to attend the call, but I slipped and fell, dislocating my shoulder, and my ankle was also in pain. I couldn't move for about 2 hours as I was in a numb state. Somehow I got up and reached the phone to get medical help. Help ...
