The receptionist asked me to come up and take over the phones while she does files. One person called for my second boss came up and the receptionist said “You don’t have to cover the phones if you don’t want to.” I then asked if she thought that I had “attitude” and she didn’t really answer that but body language would indicate that that is whereabouts she was thinking wise.

I've always found the clinical definition of BPD to be too convoluted to really describe the "essence" of what it's all about. So, BP's and non-BP's alike, in one or two sentences, how would you describe BPD?

I've suspected for over a year now that I have BPD, ever since I read the symptoms and felt identified with... well, pretty much all of them. But I have gone to several psychologists and all of them have told me I was crazy to think so, and even sort of laughed about the idea of me thinking I have a personality disorder. Does anybody else go through this? It seems like I get terribly bored in relationships when they are going too well. Besides my usual mental problems, mood swings, etc, it just seems like when things start going too smoothly, I not only start questioning the relationship, but I start feeling terribly bored of it. Just went to one of my groups, and saw my charts and it said I'm not diagnosed with BPD. This is the third pet diagnosis I was given then had removed from me by this psychiatrist. Not sure what the 4th she might try before she's replaced will be. Okay, so I have one last question.

If I have the goal of simplification and high boundaries and all that, what about consistency with people and politeness?

Should this be a secondary goal?

Yes. Indeed. The toxic cycle which I have mentioned before will occur if we don't use high boundaries. I still haven't figured out how to do this from a glassed in office, but I need to.

We have to remain as objective as possible and we need to be strong enough to use those boundaries.
