Magical Thinking in BPD

Is there any way to work specifically against magical thinking that comes with BPD? Is noticing magical thoughts like I notice judgments going to help, or is there another way?

How well do you read emotions?

Hi guys and gals!
Hope your all doing ok today. :)
You may have already seen this on the antisocial subforum but I thought I'd put it here for those that havent.
It's a test to see how well you accurately perceive and remember faces, and also, how well you read emotions on peoples faces.
It takes about twenty minutes (I think).

Just click on the fourth ...

Seeking advice.

I have been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder.
I'm really conscious of the fact I have it, and I realize when I'm being destructive. I just don't know how to control it. I can't afford a therapist, or the medication, and it's tearing me to pieces. The only way I can deal with it is to "shut myself off" completely. Even when I do that I start stressing about not feeling anything. I just don't ...

Sexual Fantasies

I've gathered that sexual fantasies are often quite revealing about the psyche of a person. I thought i'd start a thread addressing my own sexual fantasies and hope that some of you share yours....or atleast your thoughts on mine.

I'm not sure if this is a typical or extra peculiar fantasitical mind set..... but the vast majority of my sexual fantasies do not centre around me being involved in any sexual act. Unless it's of ...

With all the "Do you think my bf, ex-bf, husband, friend has BPD", "Do you think my gf, ex-gf, wife, friend has BPD".. I'm beginning to sometimes feel like I'm some sort of online Psychiatrist, and one that doesn't charge any money.. Wouldn't be great if we could set a our own fee, and ...

Should I persue my childish desires?

I'm nearly 20, and I've been trying to find out why I am so immature. I have been diagnosed with mild autism, but after reading the symptoms of BPD( particularly childish behaviours) I am pretty sure this is what I have.

Since I was about 6, I have noticed a pattern throughout my life, in regards to intense friendships. I had a friend when I was six, who I was very overprotective of, Almost in ...

Is my Ex Fiance a BPD?

I am a Pacific Islander and I was engaged to an American guy I met online in a dating site. He proposed marriage to me four days after we first talk which I said no of course. We remained friends though, and we were still chatting. Then he told me he proposed to an 18 year old lady from my country too, who said yes. He bought a wedding ring, a plane ticket and send ...

My mother has NPD, I have BPD, do they coexist?

Hey guys, long time reader first time poster.
I've been diagnosed with BPD for about 2 years now and recently came to the realization that my mother has NPD.

QUESTIONS:
Is it 'normal' that her personality disorder has in turn, affected me by causing a PD in me?
Or Am i just a result of her emotional abuse and in turn not really a sufferer of BPD?

I'm so confused about this entire revelation and ...
