from day to night in 6 days.... first post

So this is my first post, in short, my name is David, I just turned 30 last month and was diagnosed with bpd 7 days ago. I've had bpd traits for as long as I remember as a social person. I'm gonna make this one short and sweet cuz I'm on break.... and not a happy camper.
I was finally diagnosed 7 days ago... for the next four day following, I felt great, no waves ...

Recovering Well/Still Merging

I couldn't find exactly what I wanted to talk about so I started a new topic.

I have been through a year's worth of DBT. I have come out the other side free of the majority of my depression and anxiety, all of my suicidal thoughts and actions and self harm, and I have begun to find myself.

I have also entered my first post-therapy relationship. I've found that my love hasn't been waning as ...

Fitting into whichever diagnosis is given to me

I've been in the mental health system since I was 13. (I'm 25 now). I've been given too many diagnoses to name. The dr.s diagnosed me with BPD a long time ago, and I know that's right.

It seems like whenever I get a new label, I try to fit in with it. Suddenly I develop "symptoms" that weren't there before. It's like, I need that label so I know who I am. Does anyone ...

How to respond without it being held against me?

Hi everyone! I have a question about my friend and need some input, please. We're both females, I've known her since childhood. We live far away from one another and so I only see her a few times every two or three months or so.

My friend called me up and yelled at me for not responding to her text messages. I had no idea what was going on- just picked up the phone and ...

Help - NDP or not?

Hi,
I posted briefly a while ago as I was trying to find dome answers to my girlfriends behaviour and thought she may have NPD.  On reflection and reading more about NPD on here I'm still confused about it. I definitely think that something's 'different' about her as I'm often left astounded by her behaviour. I definitely think she has strong traits of someone with NDP as she does the following which I think can ...

Villainizing my therapist **TRIGGERING**

So my therapist took off yesterday to spend the day with his two-year-old son. I usually have Monday appointments; T even asked me last week if I felt like I needed/wanted a session, suggesting he'd make it work if so. Well, I wasn't going to be the asshole who kept hinm from his son.

But yesterday, just after 1 p.m. when I should have been in his office, I started with the abandonment issues. He ...

Keeping your good periods going longer?

I'll feel really good, work out, get all my work done, not be an asshole to my friends, etc. for about a week or two weeks, but then the depression and severe mood swings will hit me again.

Can anybody recommend some mental strategies to not feeling that the dark stuff putting me back in my place won't be inevitable?
