BPD and applied for disability

I applied for disability last summer only to be denied a few times. I hired a lawyer for the last step, and I met with him again a few days ago to do over my case and make sure everything gets updated. I was ticked off cuz they didn't even have all the correct info from my psychologist and the mental hospital I stayed at for a week. I've seen my psychologist since 2005, and ...

Negative Validation anyone?

Reading through the forums I have noticed that a lot of people here struggle with seeing themselves as "people pleasers" or "trying to fit in" with the "normals". It has brought me to the insight that (while I have done that when I was younger), in the last decade or so I seem to have taken the opposite route - in a sense I decided at some point if I'm going to be maladjusted I'm ...

Taking A Break

I don't know how to cope with having BPD at all. I just found out about it a month ago or so, and it all made sense when I read about it. All of my mood swings, my fears, just.. everything started to make sense.

There's a bigger problem though. My boyfriend and I are going to take a break from each other at some point. He's unable to go now due to financial problems, ...

BPD and I need some advice!

Hi Everyone,
I'm struggling big time right now and need some thoughts...

I have recently been diagnosed with BPD (can you say lightbulb moment) and have previously been diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder, chronic depression, and ADHD and have been hospitalized for suicidal thoughts in 2010. The diagnosis had brought a lot of perspective to my life and the best part about it is I can pinpoint a lot of my emotional problems. I've always ...

New to forum. I have BPD

Hello, I was googling BPD, and came across this place...thank goodness!!! I'm 32 years old and have always felt "off", out of place, different. I was diagnosed when I was 14 years old with depression, and years later with an anxiety disorder. I've been seeing this new psychiatrist for 2 years now and he and the other doctor evaluating me, along with an inpatient mental hospital I was at for a week....after testing and such, ...

Feeling like Therapy is too hard sometimes....

Hi There,

I have been in therapy specific for BPD for the past year. I have some very difficult feelings I face with on a daily basis (as so many of us do) which makes it difficult to cope with. (To be specific these include severe shame about my body due to sexual trauma from the past, emotional trauma issues, difficult masturbating or having sexual intimacy, as well recurrent suicidal thoughts and tendencies to cut.) ...

Feeling special?

Does anyone else find themselves thinking they're special or somehow better than others?

I've been thinking a lot about this lately, and have come to realise that I feel like this. However, it doesn't seem to equate with feeling good. I can hate myself, yet still somehow feel better than others.
I don't go around telling people how great I am, and will often find myself arguing with them if they do say nice things, ...

Not diagnosed, but suspect I have BPD

Hey. I'm pretty damn sure I've got BPD, but I really don't want to get a therapist or tell people around me I have it. Fear of judgement, fear of being wrong, a big mix. I've taken some tests online, and from reading about it and reading this forum, it sounds a lot like me. Has being diagnosed been really helpful? Has therapy been much help? I typically do everything important to myself on my ...

Arguments

Hey

Had a row with my girlfriend this morning. Well, I call it row... for me it was more a simple discussion, but apparently to her it was quite important and because she got emotionally invested she considered it a row. She then got very upset at my dispassionate approach and analytic way of dealing with the conversation - I was disproportionate angry but in a very cold, black-and-white way if that makes sense.

Essentially, ...

Have a letter for clinical psychologist assessment

Hey just wondering if anyone can let me know from experience about something.
I got a letter for an assessment by a clinical psychologist, the psychiatrist I was taken to a while back said that his team thought I was cluster b, borderline personality and that he referred me to his clinical psychologist, but I did not get any info from her, so reckoned they forget. He gave me the impression that nothing was going ...
