Take lithium for two months and leave it because it only made me nervous and I created all of the side effects, sexual dysfunction, thirst, extreme need to urinate every time, now to leave it I see that my thyroid glands in my neck are inflamed I have cold and I notice the finest hair. Is it likely that I developed hypothyroidism and if so, is it reversible?
Please tell me about your experiences. I am very scared. I have not done blood tests for fear of giving them bad outcome.
Excuse me my english im no native speaker.

I think it is in some people, not in others. Luckily it's not a big deal to take thyroid medication. Lithium is also used to treat hyperthyroidism.
Be kind to everyone you come across because you never know who’s suffering inside.

It is VERY common for lithium to cause hypothyroidism. Your symptoms sound worse than mine. I was never tired, did not gain weight. The only tangible sign was hair loss. I was on lithium for about 8 years. No prior history of hypothyroidism. No family history of it either.
My dr detected hypothyroidism w/in a month of me starting lithium. I took 50 mcg levothyroxine the entire time i was on lithium. I have been off it 2 years. I was able to discontinue the levothyroxine when i went off lithium. My thyroid is completely normal now.

Well my analysis gave good.
My Tsh went up from 0.5 to 1 in two months but it's still low.
Why, however, I feel all the symptoms like cold hands, dry skin, enlarged thyroid nodules in the throat?
