Have a letter for clinical psychologist assessment

Postby margot tenenbaum » Wed May 02, 2012 4:06 pm

Hey just wondering if anyone can let me know from experience about something.
I got a letter for an assessment by a clinical psychologist, the psychiatrist I was taken to a while back said that his team thought I was cluster b, borderline personality and that he referred me to his clinical psychologist, but I did not get any info from her, so reckoned they forget. He gave me the impression that nothing was going to be done. I am wary of psychologists and psychiatrists , so I was just wondering if anyone could let me know what questions they will ask, and anything to be wary of as I do not want to get myself into a situation were they brand me negatively or anything.
Thanks xx

Here are some of the things they asked me about, that I remember, anyway:

  • Relationships
    • w/ Parents
    • w/ lovers
    • w/ friends
  • Work History
  • Aspects of my life that concern me
  • Emotional responses to stimuli (e.g. crying, getting into fights, etc.)
  • Actions taken when emotions flare up (fights, self-injury)
  • Suicide attempts

As for "branding [you] negatively", there isn't a whole lot you can do on that front. They'll ask you similar questions in different ways at different times, just to see if you're trying to cover up something. Besides, they've seen worse. Unless you've gone on any psychopathic killing sprees lately, you should be fine.

...uh...you haven't gone on any killing sprees, have you? Image
