GAD and paranoia

Does anybody have any experience with anxiety so acute that it lapses into paranoid thinking? My doctors swear I'm not paranoid in the classical sense, just anxious (though I'm on four different meds for it) but I go through phases of acute paranoia.

I feel like everyone is watching me, especially the police, and that people I know are setting a trap for me; a policeman was standing in line behind me at the gorcery ...

Always writing her name

Hi there,

I hope I have the right section of the forum :D

I was wondering if someone could give me some insight about my friend's behaviour.

My friend, for some strange reason, always likes writing her name. Just her first name. She just does it randomly, but when she does it, she'll fill up a whole blank page with her name.

This is not a ...

Your medication.

Hi everyone,

I have been thinking about my medication and I don´t think it works that good. I take Zoloft, the highest dose, 200 mg.
How well is it supposed to work?

I just sort of wanted to know what you guys think about your medication. What medication do you take, how much and how does it work for you?

It would be great if you would answer me. Thank you!

Lovisa.

Stores.

Hi everyone,

I am so tired of my ocd. Resently as I have moved to a larger city and also that I have to do all the shopping myself, I have come to see the problem with stores. There are, of course, all these shelves to walk around. I have these patterns in which I have to walk aboun them and they change all the time. I usually end up sad and well sort of ...

Anxiety attacks or Panic attacks?

I was wondering if someone could tell me the difference between anxiety attacks and panic attacks; or are they the same thing? Generally when I read up on these attacks, I find that the cause of these are fear. To sum up my story, almost 6 months ago my heart started racing very fast and I felt like I was going to faint and couldn't breathe. I ended up in the ER and after numerous ...

student with GAD

Hello All,

I have GAD, I was diagnosed by my GP 3.5 years ago. I am now in college, I have been at university for 4 weeks. I am living in a dormitory and sharing a room with another girl. When I first came to university, I had to take a 'swim test' and after I took the test, my legs became extremely shaky. I had to carry myself out of the pool and into ...

I am not on my own, am I?

Even though I have been for counselling for over a year now, the word "agoraphobia" hasn't actually been used, but I know that it's what I am plagued with. I feel that I always need to have a "safe escape route" available to me at all times. This means that although not housebound, I feel that I cannot go more than a few miles from home before I begin to get knotted up and start ...
