Spectrum Bipolar is a senseless

What means spectrum Bipolar if you are BI polar you oscilate from maniac to depressive from North Polo to South Polo , then what means that so called "spectrum".
If are very maniac you sobre charge your system and become depressed and again in the cycle like when you take a drug or alcohol etc. but if you are in spectre what means? , you simply have mood fluctuations like every human in the world
