I only started self harming two months ago. Before then, I would only have occasional incidents, but I would hit my head against a wall because the idea of blood used to scare me.

I seem to have a very acute sensitivity to artificial lighting accompanied by mood altering effects. Sunlight does not bother me (other than the normal bright glares, etc.). It's the artificial lights that really bother me. Especially if it's at night and I'm outside where there are several street lights, porch lights, flashing signs, or other types ...
