You Know...

You,ve tried so hard but it just seems that all that brings joy is the thought of shooting yourself in the head. Blowing out your brains to bring the mind at rest. Or maybe gun to the heart? That would settle the restless beating that never stops. But all these would be calls for help "society" says. But that's what pisses me off the most. You can't do anything without good old "society" classifying anything. ...

Not sure what to do...

I think I find myself becoming more and more 'attached' to my prescription medication, specifically lorazepam. I'm worried that I might be heading down the first stages of benzo addiction (which is something I can't have/allow/handle due to my other issues). The med works very well for what it does, I just don't seem to be able to leave it at that. Any tips for avoiding a bad situation with these meds?

Introduction to everybody....

There are also other issue stemming from the diagnosis (to many to list here). I thought in my first post I would like to say hello to everybody and that I hope everyone is doing alright. Any writers out there?

Writing is one of my favorite past times. I'm extraordinarily socially awkward, so I can barely hold a coherant conversation with people, but I can write like the wind. I explore a lot of emotional situations in my writing that I have trouble with in my own life. Mostly I write fantasy and a little science fiction, some short stories and some novel length. I don't think I'll ever publish, I just like the process. ...

Irritability?

Does anyone have issues with extreme irritability? Where normal noises drive you crazy? I have had this problem since I was little and the sound of my kids just walking around is making me nuts today. Is this an Aspie thing?

Having an honest relationship

I am diagnosed with Bipolar II disorder or hypomania. For the first time, I am in a serious relationship with a completely normal guy. In the past, I have always dated men that tend to have similar emotional problems like me.

I am terrified of scaring this guy off with my emotional instability or by telling him of my diagnosis. I am 24 and we have been in a committed relationship for about 8 months ...

Tourette Treatment

Has anyone attempted to treat their tourette condition with a mouth appliance?

Simply: negative input from the trigeminal nerve causes disruption in the reticular formation of the brain and involuntary motor output.

Stablize the jaw with a mouthpiece and the negative trigeminal inputs are reduced and and the involuntary muscle movements are reduced or eliminated.

Just some thoughts...

Hi everyone,
I've just joined here, originally because I met a bloke a few weeks ago, and he told me after about 3 dates that he was bipolar.... I came on here to find out about it, then realised that I have a lot of the traits myself. I have been having really bad health problems for the past year or two... and years ago i suffered from depression a few times.
I have been ...

Effectively calling them out

I noticed that when I called my HPD out while trying to relate to things she did not understand(like embarrassing me in public or embarrassing herself) she would lash out and throw fits. If I commented on her personally and layed out how screwed up she is, she would agree with me and see my perspective.

All nons can understand the former situation. The latter occurred when she did something sketchy that embarrassed me because ...

Lengthy post asking for some advice from AsPD'ers

Hey guys

I'm not diagnosed with AsPD. On here I would be considered a "norm" although I do question myself. I've been lurking for a few months, reading threads and enjoying the interactions in general. I've taken to certain members and enjoy their contribution and online personas. I have a genuine interest in psychopathy that's been with me for about three years now which started with serial killers but evolved in to all types, especially ...
