Can the Heart be Destroyed?

I have been thinking this morning: can the heart be destroyed or suppressed beyond ability to resurrect? I find I cannot feel any love toward other people, or only such a small amount that it is insignificant. People talk of having a broken heart, but what if it is beyond that, some new dimension, where the heart has been pummeled until it is rough and thick and barely responds to anything, like the heart of ...

I'm new here.

Hi guys. I'm new here. I've just been so up in my head the last few days and thought I would post here and discuss things with people that would understand.

I have a lot of issues. I didn't have a horrible childhood like a lot of people with mental health issues do. I was harrassed a bit in grade school for a couple years and there was occassional verbal abuse from my father. But ...

I'm spiraling away

***Trigger warning- denial and ranting***

I spent the evening with my parents. We had a nice time together watching old family videos. Well, nice in the sense of spending time with my parents and laughing a lot. Not nice in the sense of not being able to actually place myself in those videos. It was like watching scenes from a movie that I've never seen before. It was bizarre.

I'm wondering however...

Why do I ...

Random Traits?

Does anyone else experience any of the following traits?

1. Sensitivity to noise (in particular, I cannot stand the sound of other people eating or any extraneous noise while I am trying to fall sleep - especially voices)

2. Annoyance at other people getting in your territorial bubble (while shopping, driving a car, walking down a narrow hallway, etc.)

3. A love of rainy or foggy days

4. An uncontrollable urge to laugh out loud ...

Positive BPD YouTube Channel!

Have you all ever seen any of of the videos on a channel called "Me And My Black Table"?

They're made by a guy named Bas, and he's a real sweetheart.
When he first started making videos, you can see that he was timid, unsure of himself, and definitely hurting. By the time he got to his most recent videos, he had been well on the road to recovery, and was looking amazing and happy! ...

Anyone Else Extremely Self Conscious?

I'm constantly looking in mirrors to the point where it's a compulsion. I always feel like there's something wrong with my face, like what if my hair is messed up or I have a booger in my nose? I can't even sit next to my boyfriend for an extended period of time without getting up to check the mirror multiple times, which annoys him. Another example of my self conscious behavior is that when I'm ...

I just can't stop...

I've been pulling my hair out since I was 7, after I changed schools. On average,
i'd only pull around 10 strands a day. I didn't even realize I was doing it. My hair grew back to normal after I made new friends in my school. When I turned 10, I started twirling my hair again after I had to switch schools again. I'd just twirl big chunks around, and lightly tie knots, then undo ...

Two people with PTSD dating, bad idea?

Me and a guy that I have been getting close to (slowly) both have PTSD. We aren’t in a relationship yet, because we are taking things nice and slow, which is what we both need. We have been getting to know each other since April, his brother introduced us while this guy was in Afghanistan because he thought we’d be good for each other. (He got home October 4 of this year).

We have started ...

Is this what its like when an ego jumps out of the body?

I don't know what to make of what happens sometimes. I had an appointment with my doc this afternoon, so I took an hour off of work to go. As usual, I seem to get pretty worked up after these appointments. Lots of trances and communications with those other egos.

When I returned to work, I suddenly had this intense feeling like a man was standing behind me blowing air into me left ear to ...
