If you pull the hairs with kinks this may help?

After recently getting my hair blow waved straight. . I realised that I wouldn't find any 'kinky' hairs, and being not interested in pulling out straight ones, that I had a solution. I now get my hair straightened once a week.. although at first it's a bit of a nuisance having to wear a shower cap etc so it doesn't frizz.. after a couple of days i just tie it up with a nice claw ...

New to the forum- but still battling

Hi everyone

Yes I'm another person posting here saying I'm new to the forum.
But I'm not new to trichotillomania, or any other impulse disorders. Since 2001 I have been pulling out my hair, eyelashes and eyebrows which then swiftly merged into picking and pulling at the skin on my arms. Many times have I tried to stop doing them altogether but have not been successful. On a nicer note I have actually stopped pulling ...

Do you pull in chunks or each hair individually?

I pull each hair individually, and when I accidentally get two or three at once, I get upset.

Will my hair grow back in normal

I had trich for about 1 1/2 years. I luckily got control of it, and stopped plucking my hair about a month ago. I slowed down and didn't pull as much as I did, then, one day stopped. It was great. It all started when I would take tweezers and pull out hairs that stuck up after i got out of the shower. I have slightly wavy hair, so these really bothered me. After about ...

Does anyone else do this?

I am an American fifteen-year-old girl, and when I can really remember my trich getting to the worrisome point was around this time last year. I've hit peaks and troughs since, to the point of having bald spots. Most of mine is at night as I read or such, and try to calm down from a long day. I've noticed that after a particularly adrenalin-filled or stressful event, I used to pull. I would cover ...

Hi everyone : )

I'm brand new here, having just found this site through faithful web searching. I'll start by saying how nice it feels to read posts about/by people who know what I'm dealing with. But I've noticed that my case seems a tad different, even if in the very slightest, than a lot of the posts I've read so far.

I've always seemed to have issues with leaving my hair alone, since I was young child.
But ...
