This is a bid of an unusual request

Hey everyone,

I am a freelance journalist writing an article on domestic violence – both verbal and physical. Do you have a story to tell? Would like to communicate advice and share experience with potential new abuse victims? I am particularly interested in finding out WHY victims stay in an abusive relationship. However, all other story’s would be very helpful too – for example how did you manage to break free or when did you ...

Feel so weak and pathetic

Its pretty sad when you still cant get over something that happened to you when you were a child. How can something that happened so long ago still make me feel terrible about myself? Emotionally, sexually, physically, you name it im a train wreck and i think most of it stems from the abuse. I probably would still be messed up even if my uncle didnt decide to molest me but abuse has to have ...

What should I expect next from a bipolar spouse ?

I beleive my wife is bipolar. She will not get help - she is treating herself for some depressive issues.

Her father was bipolar - and was institutionalized for a year.

She has access to Lexapro, and self medicates with relatively high doses - 20mg and more daily
She is a chronic insomniac and takes sleeping meds (trazodone) sometimes three times a night.

She does not trust me, and believes that I am capable of ...

Is he an N? Or just a Player?

I will try and make a long story short:

Met him in a bar where my friend worked. The first time I talked to him, he was an A-Hole to me, because he was complaining to me about his EXWF/divorce/kids and I tried to give him some advice, since he seemed so upset, but he just got cocky and arrogant and resented my advice....so I avoided him.

Then, he turned on the charm. He came ...

Advice for coping from fellow Narcissists

Might be part rant but with my deployment the overqualifications I have for my current position have come into sharp focus. I am a trained analyst and yet I find myself sitting at the unofficial help desk for the command. Now granted its not supposed to be like that but my predecesors lacked a backbone and the duties have been saddled onto our office and there is little I can do about it at this ...

Possible HPD partner ... desperate for advice

I've been spending several days reading hundreds of posts/articles/videos regarding HPD. Recently, by pure frustration and exhaustion, I was driven to a Google search where I typed phrases such as "anxiety, excessive need for reassurance, sympathy, etc." and the first subject returned was "Histrionic Personality Disorder." I was expecting to merely find information on general anxiety, but after reading the first HPD article, I was stunned by how accurately the description fit my partner. Since, ...

Schizoid and Art

Is there anyone producing art? A year ago I decided to find out if I could stimulate my right cerebral hemisphere and now produce some acrylic paintings from time to time. I do not really enjoy it but I continue from time to time to see if there is any improvement. Does anyone of you enjoy art?

A couple of months ago I have been diagnosed as Schizoid. Before I was nearly two years out ...

Do bpd's feel upset when they don't feel love anymore?

I have been diagnosed with traits of bpd and have rarely felt love for my boyfriend for nearly a year. I am completely heartbroken because this happened overnight during a very stressful period(i'd relocated to be with him, hated my new job, found it hard to fit in down here and had a physical illness to contend with). Before I 'switched' I began to feel terrified that he'd leave me, jealous of ex's etc and ...
