I feel my sister's ex is emotionally abusive. I've read a lot of info on it online and a book about verbal abuse. Some of the things he does.

- Has irrational outbursts over trivial things (for example, the price of coffee filters at a store)- apparently just wants to start an argument over nothing.
- Talks to her like a child - for example, will tell ...

one of the problems I've been having with DID are the effects on my(our) social life it has had.

my(our) social life is close to non-existent. the reasons are mostly linked to the DID.
1-not hearing what people say
2-forgeting what a conversation is all about. and being accused of not paying attention
3-contradicting myself 50% of the time
4-unclear messages about own interests , ideas and such which can be misleading for people who ...

The more I read posts in this forum and educate myself about mental illnesses the more I realize I should seek outside help but I'm afraid to. From what I understand it takes years to arrive at a correct diagnosis, if its ever found and it costs money. I might begin functioning better regardless of treatment in those years considering my mental state has been improving the last few years. I have never seen a ...
