Accepting bailouts

Time and time again on this message board folks write about their parents or others bailing them out from gambling debts. This unfortunately does not help the gambler. The gambler whose relatives bail him or her out will in most instances go back to gambling.

If you want to quit, please do not accept bail outs! This prolongs the gambling behavior.

Paying off one's debts is a form of victory. It makes us stronger and ...

I don't want to be a hypocrite

I preach about self-exclusion all the time on here, probably so much that some of you are sick of hearing about it. But the fact is that when I self-excluded I only did it for five years. The sad fact is that I left myself a way back in.

I started out as a blackjack player then moved onto online poker. I gave up online poker fairly easily when they built a casino near me but I usually ended up at a blackjack table at some point. I tried other games but I never got any enjoyment or rush out of them at all, even when I won. Craps, roulette and slot machines never really appealed to me. Neither did sports betting, I bet ...

Cashing out online experiences/horror stories?

I was just curious what was everyone's highest cash out online was if they ever had one. I say this because you should realize that there is a slim chance you'll ever see a withdrawal/cash out playing online. If there is chance you ever do get to experience it, you'll most likely give it right back to them. Mine was 40K once which was withdrawn out in increments of 10K every 10-15 days. You would ...

I have been gambling since about the age of 18 (32 now). Like most people I started with small fiver bets on the football. Had no interest in horse racing whatsoever even though my dad had the odd yankee (had no ...
