Bipolar disorder and lying

Hi there, I'm new to the forums because I have a concern about a friend with bipolar disorder and lying. I'd just like to hear some advice/stories/anything to help me get a handle on the situation.

I have a male friend (early 40s) who confirmed to me recently that he is bipolar but untreated. He and I have been growing close lately, but there is a lot going on in his life at the moment. ...

Realizing we have a BPD guest in our home - help!

10 months ago I received a text by a 20 year old I know casually. She brought me a coffee and was soon revealing a few details of her life (child abuse, didn't "fit" with her biofamily, leaving obsessed boyfriend of 6 months, was 1 day into a 2 wk. housesitting situation & had a dream where a demon chased her, then not able to move upon awaking). I invited her home for the evening. ...

Help- bipolar husband feels no love and cant help me!

Hi,
My husband was diagnosed as rapid cycling bipolar 8 months ago. Last week he was very kind, doing lots of things to make me happy, didn’t get upset over anything, we were talking every day. His head symptoms were also very low. But in general he has every day headaches, tightness, his head gets full from conversation and he always has noise in his ear. These things come in waves, sometimes its very low ...

My friend with BPD

Hi everyone.

This is really hard for me to write, please bear with me.

I have a friend with BPD, I met her two years ago at college. In the last six months we've grown very close. Unfortunately, she is having a lot of problems in her life which would be extremely trying without BPD. She is doing a difficult course at college, she has an unsupportive family, health issues, drug issues, money issues... she ...

Help with how to deal with abusive, young family member...

I hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting this here, I just don't know where else to put this. Mods: if this isn't the right place, please redirect me.

This is sort of a long story that needs to be told in order for you to fully understand the predicament.

My cousin Monica had 3 kids before she passed away. The first was a boy with her high school sweetheart, 6 years later she ...

How Can I Help My Friend? (Depersonalization)

Hello,

My name is Jenna.

I just registered to this forum and I have read some very similar stories to those of my friend. We recently broke up under good terms and are trying to remain friends. I love him dearly and I want to do whatever I can to help. He recently went to a therapist to discuss his anxiety, after telling her about his experiences she mentioned that he may have depersonalization disorder. ...

Praise or Criticize and Punish HPD cluster b types

What's the best way to deal with an wwHPD or Cluster B type. I am not sure if I am dealing with a woman that may have BPD, HPD or traits from one or both or more or if it matters.

Are both of these styles of managing a cluster B type useful. It seems they are not quite compatible.

I saw advice like this:

"If you want to get anywhere with Ham-it-up Histrionics, use ...

Is this typical Cluster B/HPD behavior

I know it's typical for the partners of women with cluster B to feel that they are at fault even though they are victims or being manipulated. I am mostly thinking that I am being manipulated but I also have some doubts. I sometimes think that I may be causing some strife.
I'd love to get some comments on this.

Recently there have been more fights, disagreements.

She invited me to her apartment for a ...
