Introduction and questions: Co-morbidity?

I apologise for this being as long as it is.

I do not like discussing my problems and up till now, have only confided in my girlfriend. In doing so, and through the course of our developing relationship, I have increasingly realised the severity of my difficulties. Unfortunately, a therapist is not feasible due to financial constraints, the likelihood I shall have to move and travel frequently in the near future, and for other reasons ...

Is this DID Worthy?

I know, I know. I just posted a thing not even five minutes ago, but while I was scanning through the site, something hit me like a pile of bricks...

DID is caused by the cliche reoccurring abuse, but every time I see the word "abuse" I think hiding bruises under long sleeve shirts, and fearing for your life on a daily bases. Well, I've never been put in that bad of a situation...

*POSSIBLE ...

The Different Sides of Me

Hey, been a while, huh?

So, for the past week or so, I've been trying to take note of how each of us are different. And, well, I decided to share with you guys the obvious differences between us ^^ (though I have noo clue what I'm doing this...)
*Thanks to my friend for helping me out with this and being so patient with me and my craziness. <3*

Friend: "Hey, what's up?
Me: *Playful ...

Can't sleep - Alters keep me awake!

Hi.

I haven't slept for the whole night... T_T My alters kept me awake with their chatter. Why do alters have to be most active at 12am-4am!!?

Most of the alters sleep like babies for the whole night. They go to sleep around 10pm, children go to sleep around 7-8 pm. Those who don't want to sleep yet, keep company to me but they seem to fall asleep pretty soon.

And then there's the new ...

Into His Mind...(understanding)

I’ve known about my boyfriend having DID since the third month into our relationship when a second personality was accidentally drawn out one night.

I apologize ahead of time for ranting and length, unfortunately once I start I have a hard time shutting up. =\

(For the explanation of what caused the split see here: dissociative-identity/topic67425.html)

Early December Johann and I were sitting in my living room talking – ...

angry alter, protector - animal? *TRIGGERING?*

I've been connecting more and more with Adam, an infant and the core, by thinking the word toy, and imagining especially the little stuffed animals we keep nearby (thanks to suggestions from others on this board). Our interactions have been extremely gentle. He's comforted by the soft toys tickling and he's been visiting more and more frequently. He's an apprehensive child who stays briefly and makes tiny coos.

Until recently, we only had the name ...

Memories and identity problems (triggers)

Again I feel pretty "out of it" so I might not make any sense here...

Over the past few months I've had a lot of memories/information come to me, via others or my own internal research. My problem is, though, after I'm flooded with a bunch of either images or "connecting of the dots" (as I like to call it), soon after the memories fade away again and I'm left feeling absolutely nothing about what ...

I lose stuff

One criteria of DID is finding stuff that you don't remember buying in your home. But what if things seem to disappear?

I just quote from my previous thread where I talked about other things and failed to make a separate new post. Disappearing stuff has been a nuisance for me from ever since I was six. Depending on my situation, there have been breaks but it has started again. Sometimes it has made me ...

Schizophrenia can become DID? NOT!

I ran across this. Has anyone else heard that when the schizophrenic disorder is not treated properly it might develop into DID? :?:

"And while considering Schizophrenia to be a distinct
disorder from DID, they both have similar symptoms, mainly
the hearing of voices, but schizophrenia is viewed as only
one personality that behavior differently at times, while
DID is viewed as multiple personalities or multiple
expressions ...

Could this cause splitting/DID? **Poss trigg**

So I'm looking for some advice about this one, and am wondering if anyone knows anything about this or has heard anything similar.

**possible triggers**

Two months before I was born, my parents were in a very severe car accident. Basically, the engine of the car ended up on my moms lap. She was told she probably would never walk again (although she was able to heal surprisingly well). Mom was in hospital til I ...
