Alters can control my breathing? *maybe triggering?*

So I just had a little incident in the shower there where I needed to hold onto the rails to stop me from falling because one of my alters just tried to come out (they've never been out before) and it stopped from breathing, and I was very close to passing out, literally felt as if it was seconds away.

So this incident has reminded me of other times when alters stopped me from breathing ...

Curious as to how others compare.

So there is always someone who is "out" and wearing the "identity", if you know what I mean. The part who does that changes fairly often.

My problem is that whoever is "out" and feeling like "Me" instead of a separate part... well I can't identify myself most of the time, with a few exceptions. Alice knows who she is when she's out, as does Ayame, but I can't even tell who "I" am most ...

United States of Tara

Hey all,

Just a minor question - we've heard about the United States of Tara series before and have only just started watching it. But we were wondering if there's actually anything about childhood trauma having led to D.I.D. in the portrayed Tara's case? Only seen two episodes so can't judge yet, but her alters so far seem very outgoing and brash (we actually have to be able to watch it 'cause we're easily triggered ...

Therapy update

Good morning, all.

So we've seen this therapist over seven times now. Yesterday, right as our session was ending, she brought up the fact that we had been pretty 'dodgy' on what we talk about. Really, the last seven sessions have been focusing on whatever I want to talk about at that moment and building a therapuetic relationship.

As such, beginning next week we will be starting age regression therapy. Not hypnotized age regression, but ...

Interpersonal nuerobiology? Anyone familiar with it?

The T I'm seeing tomorrow uses interpersonal nuerobiological therapy as one of her therapy methods, or so it says on her ad(in ediction to humanistic, existential, mindfulness, etc.)

Anyone familiar with this? I was trying to research it online and didn't find much. Just one study from one guy, seemingly pretty young concept.

do your hallucinations lead to memories?

Really random childhood memories though. Like I heard someone say the word "echo", and then the image popped into my head of a cat on a cartoon I used to watch. Also on this video tape of cartoons was a show about a little boy who "lost" his echo. I hadn't thought of it or been reminded of it in years, so it was weird.

It makes me wonder how many of the hallucinations are ...

Post-DID acceptance depression

In April, I started to accept the fact that I may have people living in my head, and 2 months later, thanks in part to this forum, I finally admitted to myself and to my alters that they were real and I had DID.

Now that I've accepted this fact, I've become more suicidal and depressed than an attention-starved Kardashian sister. I'm not ever going to actually kill myself, but I can't find real work ...
