Really random childhood memories though. Like I heard someone say the word "echo", and then the image popped into my head of a cat on a cartoon I used to watch. Also on this video tape of cartoons was a show about a little boy who "lost" his echo. I hadn't thought of it or been reminded of it in years, so it was weird.
It makes me wonder how many of the hallucinations are actual memories...that would be disturbing.

i've never had hallucinations - only flashbacks, so i can't really help out there, but the flashbacks were obviously memories... i'm sorry i can't help with the question, but i did find the flashbacks were a bit of a shock, and it can be disturbing.

it would make sense that that could be the case... not really had much of a diversity in hallucinations to really make that connection... only pounding floors, grey shadows, hearing my name etc etc.

With my girls their hallucinations are definitely memories or well made of memories. It's very disturbing for them especially cause they seem very real and they actually respond, feel and smell like they did at the time of the memory. The only difference with the flashbacks is that the girls know they are hallucinations and that they're not really there, where as with flashbacks they don't see the difference and it's just like it's happening again. I know I didn't need to explain the difference but the way I wrote it sounded like I could be confusing the hallucinations with flashbacks.
My girls have hallucinations 24/7, some times the are more annoying than other times. They can be very intrusive and scary but normally they just sit somewhere and leave her be so to say. It's disturbing how much your mind can deceive you. Always keep reminding yourself that it's not real and it will be ok.
