I began a relationship with a woman -- Sonia -- a year and a half ago. To me Sonia demonstrates all of the characteristic behaviors described in the definition of DSM's dependent personality disorder. She is extremely dependent on others, insecure, indecisive, perfectionist, completely focused on fulfilling the desires of others, has low self-esteem, extremely self-critical, etc.
