a few months ago, I discovered I had bpd, and got a therapist. My therapist said she didnt think I had it, because I dont engage in frantic effort to avoid abandonment (I havent done that in years), engage in self harm, or suicidal ideation. When I asked to be diagnosed using the criteria, she said I have "borderline traits", but I dont have a personality disorder. What does this even mean? i thought I ...

Hello. I was diagnosed with BPD several months ago. My previous diagnoses (for the past ten years or so) were severe depression, general anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder (type II), PTSD (due to childhood abuse), and anorexia nervosa. He has this ability to completely separate his feelings from himself - bury them, and hurt people, and ignore the hurt because he doesn't see it. Doesn't feel it or something. And he never learns from it, when someone tells him how they've hurt because of him.

He has anxiety, but this only fear is his death.

I know the common attachment problem with BPD is one minute loving someone, then then next hating them.

I was just wondering, I get attached to people but I never really end up hating them as such? I just love them constantly until the attachment has 'worn off' if you like.

I only hate someone if I feel they're not giving me enough attention, so I get angry and blame them etc.

As you probably know, borderlines sometimes do better if they take a mix of medicines-- right now I'm on a mood stabilizer, a stimulant, and an anxiolytic, but I am not on any antidepressats. My doc is asking me to consider trying wellbutrin to up my motivation levels, decrease lethargy and depression. I'm done with ######6 SRRIs, never again will I ever go on another. I really feel like theres two of me. One day I'm good, the next day I'm bad. One day, I am saying ABSOLUTELY NO to antidepressants to level out my moods. The next, I am saying, i think i NEED medication. This is all pretty tiring.

I even see some things I post on here and get embarrassed because I flip flop so much.

Its exhausting.
