celebrating a tiny victory!

Postby BeccaBee » Fri May 11, 2018 12:36 am

I feel super proud of myself! if you would like to share a tiny victory here, please do!

I constantly doubt if I'm a good enough parent. I'm really hard on myself. and us. but, I just realized I'm doing one thing right. I was never really taught how to take care of my body. females do a lot of grooming and I didn't learn that from any parent or sister or aunt or anybody. it's left me behind my peers at work in terms of grooming and attire. you know. corporate wear. business. ugh. anyway. whenever I realize a gap like that I always check the memory banks to make sure I'm not ######6 up the same way. and I'm proud to report that I am not ######6 that up. I am acing self care!

I am teaching the kid everything about her body and how to take care of it! I am teaching the kid that it's ok to have intense feelings. just breathe, etc. I am teaching her about nutrition and food choices. healthy sleep habits. all about how to take care of herself.

No tiny victories. They are all important. And all shining parts of your journey to be cherished.

That's big, team bee. And you did/do that all by yourself. What an accomplishment...! Very happy for the kid and for you.

I like the idea of celebrating victories!
I think they are often bigger than we think.

We got thru the appointment with the court consultant (without A or A jumping into his face, but they might want to share more in the rant thread later...)
and we stood up for ourselves so that he didn't come into our appartment this time, we went to his office instead. We spoke up in the conversation, expressing our wish for a longer support through the social court (they pay a social worker to help us with our paper work) and if everything goes well we don't have to see him for another 4 years!

I got flowers from my boss for doing a great job. how cool is that?

they were nice too. there's another girl who has my job and we split the workload and work as a team. we both got flowers and cupcakes for everyone who reports to her.

big change from the last group of assholes I was working with.
