TV shows

Postby WTFDIDIDO » Fri Dec 15, 2017 5:23 am

I love shows (they allow all my parts to take a break) so figured we can have a thread about them here and it would be intresting to see the variety and maybe we can all find some new ones. Also what I find very intresting is I often struggle to know what is going on in reality and yet have tremendos ability to watch and absore shows of all genres and complexities (again I think shows are very theraputic for DID)

Here are some current ones I am watching recently finished

Travellers (I have a part who is big on scifi especially time travel. Honestly, when I am not not tripping-or even on a little pot- and can pay attention to the complexity, this is one of the best yet least talked about shows out there)

Silicon Valley (a part of me liked it so much i binged all 4 seasons in a week if i am not mistaken)

Disjointed (did I mention a part of me loves pot)

Ballers (sports comedy/drama big yes)

Dark matter (along with a good story it resonates as I worry sometimes I will wake up without my memories)

Happy (just came out and while idk wtf I watched in the 1st epsiode it looks promising)

My all time favourite is Bojack Horseman (spoiler alert: Todd coming out as asexual has helped me open up to others- not relevant to anything but believe it or not being ace is harder for some to understand than having DID)

There is a lot more but leave it at these for now. Let's hear some of yours

I love Anne with an E and Nurse Jackie, too, GrayWolf. I haven't heard of the shows you mentioned WTFDIDIDO :(

Some of our favourites (for grown-ups).
1. Dark (new show on Netflix... scary, but about time-travel)
2. Outlander (less scary and ALSO about time-travel and history)
3. Rita (rebellious teacher in Denmark)

Also suitable for teenagers:
4. The Good Place (really funny)
5. The Fosters (about a foster family, soap series)

For the littles:
6. Casper and Emma
7. Pokémon

We don't watch a lot of tv here. Partially because we don't have cable so our options are limited to the handful of stations we get on the antenna.

We do watch cooking competition shows whenever we can, like the great british baking show, the great canadian baking show, master chef, lés chefs, and anything else we can get in that genre.

We also watch a lot of science, history, and nature documentaries on the local pbs station.

And someone loves one of the children's shows on pbs.

Oh and a recent fave is 'escape to the country', they just started showing reruns of that here recently.

We do not have cable or home internet so no network tv or netflix. We like documentary films which we get from the library and we have a serious Disney fetish so we download Disney Jr. shows and a few other shows...

Elena of Avalor
Doc McStuffins
Sofia the First
Grey's Anatomy (our sister-in-law lent us the first three seasons)
Transparent

really, not much else but we're up for suggestions!

Baseball and (American) football games
MLB Network
NFL Network
MSNBC (weekday evenings only; we take a break from news and politics during the weekend)
TLC Network - The Little Couple, most other shows about little people, and most shows about multiple births (e.g. Outdaughtered)
Discovery Channel - The Last Alaskans, Homestead Rescue, Alaskan Bush People
NatGeo / NatGeo Wild - Life Below Zero, Cesar Millan, Dr. Pol, Dr. Oakley, Dr. K
Animal Planet - Pit Bulls and Parolees, Dr. Jeff, North Woods Law (and similar Wildlife cop shows)
HGTV - Property Brothers (any of their series....and no, it's not because of their appearance )

As you can see, we like a lot of Alaskan wilderness shows, animal rescue shows, and vet shows.
